The gates of heaven is open on the 4th of may as the doctor will finally be replaced. All the engineers prayers have been answered. The company seems like it is heading towards the right path as upper management hopefully starts to see the bad apples.
I'm not a hater of Exxonmobil, I believe that it is a company with great system/program. It's just in Singapore we have been picking the wrong leaders and been picking people who we thought are hungry but is actually selfish. There is a fine line between hungry and selfish.

If you want to be in management in Singapore, learn these skills sooner than later. These skills are needed to survive in ExxonMobil in the 21st Century.
(1) The ability to sunset bad ideas quickly before we spend tens of millions of dollars on research only to put the bad idea on the shelf.
(2) Look outside before reinventing the wheel internally. If there was technology that we could buy or lease from a third party technology provider that we could commercialize in our corporation to make money, buy it. It costs too much money and time to develop "Me Too" processes.
(3) You must punch your ticket as a technical contributor in a group before you can manage the group.
Like it or not, pre calibration will always happen as nobody will ever play by the rules and go in the rank group evenly distributed. Every SLS have different benchmark of what good looks like. If you become an SLS you will understand the pain… don’t complain and carry on with your work..
