@879x yeah this is so messed up and worrying. The last layoff, originally those guys were selected for PIP. Then they passed and were selected for layoff.

Now I am worried. Not selected for severance also bad… I would rather they let us take and go… I’ll sign up to leave.

@879j exactly my point, ironic that bad performers get big oackage bonus while good one stay and take on sh-t. How can performance be a measure to decide?

it's gonna be the same as 2021 la, after sg study, you still see so many JLB KLKK earning their 16k salary. When you see what they do can be easily taken up by younger or newer engineers. No difference this time round, you will still see the same thing.

@879d bad performance is rewarded. Lol while the good ones get to stay in this sh-t hole. If you have a godmother it’s okay. But if you don’t, you are next in the PIP list, to be stepped on.

Good luck everyone!

@879a+16zEvLP3 Mgmt already said performance is one of the 3 factors to determine if someone gets let go this time round. Please pay attention or you will be one of them.

If you fail PIP, means dismissed due to poor performance. Will pay you your 3 months AWS and f*** off.

Retrenchment package is release due to position made redundant, not performance related. Anyway, the law does not mandate companies to pay retrenchment package. Companies just need to inform MOM of such exercise and demonstrate support to help you find job. So don’t assume you will always nice package.. https://www.tal.sg/tadm/faqs/advisory/i-have-been-retrenched#

For PIPs, management holds the decision whether pass or not mah right? If failed means can get the retrenchment package or no?

how many non-MPTs vs MPTs in singapore?

Post ID: @878h+16zEvLP3

If the technicians are not affected by the retrenchment exercise this time, the % of MPTs being retrenched is actually much higher.

This smells like 2021 all over again. We cut 300 positions back then which was a lot of head counts and technicians weren’t affected. It will be worse this time round and you don’t even have the tech bo-m to absorb those getting retrenched

Good luck

Quiet quitting remained relevant today. I am at the point where I am telling myself, what’s the point. Do enough to get by but nothing more. I shall take the time to recharge and let’s see what EM will tell us in December.

When things like this happened, you can easily tell who are the empty vessels sitting at that high level position. People look at the tech lead and principal to produce result but they just can't do anything and still consume resources, world class indeed

Imagine laying off the CRISP people right now. 3 months start up just to get kick out of the company, building something special indeed with all the crisp value

It will be mix of HBF and Manufacturing
If I interpreted the news correctly, 3500 is the whole whole population of EM in SG, so let's say is indeed 15%, means is 525 people will get lay off, but here is the catch, LCM said is MPT will get affected, meaning they use the total population (MPT and nMPT) percentage to lay off the group of MPT only.

Wow smart! Don't worry guys, just keep on farming till the end, what's the worst thing could have happen? Retrench and find new job lor.

@874e no one knows now. Each function is to "design" their future org, and look at each individual's performance, skills and fit, to decide whether they stay or leave.

I'll be so happy to be told I don't perform well, and don't have the right fit or skills for future org. Just give me the package!

Are the 500 job losses from those working at HBF or it includes manufacturing as well?

Record down whatever 1-1/close door communications with your supervisors. Especially if u initiate the conversation on problems u r facing. U never know when they will use it to backstab u. Trust me, ive been through this type of backstabbing before my very own supervisor. This can serve as evidences to MOM if required. Make a note somewhere in your own hp if the quaterly feedback never happens. Protect own interest at times like this.

Lost all respect for the LCM, VP and the rest of the Grammy Award Winning Actors on the communication at 9pm.
Wonder who else heard the hot mic incident?

No official retrenchments for nmpts, so the extra headcounts will eventually go into PIP to be terminated. The PIP termination benefits is very much lesser compared to the retrenchment benefits. Just take the package better than nothing.

Doesn’t matter hbf or mfg, if you are CL26 and above but your roles are not relevant to field work… that role is probably high risk.

EM is equal opportunity employer so regardless of hbf or mfg we have equal opportunity lah
