Any one have a must-do checklist in preparation for the upcoming cuts? HOAP? Health checks? Vaccinations?
It is good to share them here.
EM has too many dead woods, as can be seen from this chatgroup.
when young ones leaves, it is a sign of poor management of that function. They see no meaning in working for this company, no future with no control of their career. The strategy is to take a few years of experience and leave. Smart move, and don't waste time.
@2rohg+16zEvLP3
Are you sure many young SG employee left for last few months?
Many older with high pay had "asked" to go, retain younger employee to save cost.
Next round will be high pay with less work efficiency employee
XOM EQUITY ALERT: Rosen Law Firm Announces Investigation of Securities Claims Against Exxon Mobil Corporation – XOM
On January 15, 2021, the Wall Street Journal published an article titled, "Exxon Draws SEC Probe Over Permian Basin Asset Valuation." The article reported that the U.S. Securities Commission probe stems from a whistleblower complaint that during a 2019 internal assessment workers were forced to use unrealistic assumptions about how quickly wells in the Permian Basin could be drilled to reach a higher valuation, and that at least one worker who complained about the assumptions was fired.
This company is really full of sh-t, constant lie, ...
Good luck guys. Can stop your wayang and cajolery already. O&G is dead.
@2sgzj+16zEvLP3
2 weeks for every year of service, subject to a maximum of 25 weeks.
That’s all the Texan gringos are gonna give you!
Folks, everything now hinges on the government budget announcements on Feb 16, 2021. If our industry do not get the job support scheme, the guillotine will come fast and furious. Likely to be all involuntary and at best 6 months to 1 year maximum payout for those selected. Don't have high hopes as we Sinaporeans cannot be deemed to be having better package that US , AUSTRALIA OR EUROPE employees.
Even if you get promoted to a Section Head (rank group 26/27), or Department Head (rank group 28/29), there will still continue to be NSI slots to be filled for each rank group.
So there is no guarantee that you will not be asked to go, even if you are already an SH, or DH.
The rule is: ALL NSIs must, eventually, be severed!
Seems many young SG employees have left over past few months. Good trend that will help preserve the jobs of the older more experienced folks
ExxonMobil employees only know to complaint, complaint and complaint
Me included 😂
@2lmzy+16zEvLP3
Agree - unless you sustain your top 20% PA position, which will then guarantee you promotions over the years.
Here’s a (my) guide:
If you have not attained the following positions by the stipulated age range, then you’re not deemed a hi-po.
Basis: A SGean male having served NS and joins the job market at 25 years old.
Section Head by 32-34 years old
Department Head by 36-38 years old
Need to minus 2 years for women.
If you’ve already hit that age group, but not yet attained an SH or DH designation, respectively, you might as well call it a day. Cos your advancing age will only s— you into that whirlpool, with a constant vacuum below (as NSIs get weeded out)
1-2-2021.
Have kept all important information only on my desktop. So good luck to them! Ain’t sharing my hard work..
With TMTS and WE3, there will be a 30% chance that you might get laid off within this year. Why take the risk of your ending in that 30%.
You still have a few months more, before the truncations actually take effect.
You wanna wait and see and pray for the best?
I tell you.
If you are below 40, start applying for alternate jobs now, for goodness sake!
Once you get an offer(s), you can then decide if you wanna stay on and roll the dice (and still risk getting laid off), or hop on to another train and vamoose!
We are waiting for the country study for Singapore! Great folks but never understood why all other regions had to sent jobs to GBCs while Singapore maintained so many office positions in country.
Any PIP for Darren Woods?
This constant weeding of NSIs will only lead to others, now higher up the PA heirachy, to drop into the NSI category, over time.
So for those in the Good, or Very Good categories, may one day be having cold sweat re their future with the company ... when the time comes.
And don’t forget that with increasing YEE (number of years worked), your standing in the PA “ranking” will be further compromised - given your more years of experience, over a younger and lower-CL person in the same group, but who had performed equivalent to, if not better than, you.
In short, on top of the vacuum left by today’s NSIs who were forced to go , with increasing age, you will also continue to be dragged down the PA ladder, over time.
@2kfqy+16zEvLP3 Appears that they are tying to build evidence to justify that you are indeed NSI material.. you may want to seek external legal advice before signing.. it is your rights.
@2kbox+16zEvLP3 Lol.. making sure that it is water tight such that you will be out (without any legal consequences to EM) if you are in NSI again.. highly likely.. wear your NSI badge with pride!
Am suppose to receive my letter for PIP this week, indicating that i have clear it. But meeting with SLS have been postponed a few times, reason given was the Law department have not finish reviewing them. Anybody have this same issue??
SCP already forced employees to sign and declare your OWN self declaration letter.
Make mistake and this is YOUR own ticket to being kicked OUT of company.
Maybe this is the first of its kind first in the world where employees is forced to sign and declare their OWN warning letter !!!!!
Good luck EM employees anything can happen soon !
Cheers Enjoy while WE can my friends !
don't worry..managers been writing here all along, portraying that the grass inside is greener, diverting attention when people start to discuss about upcoming layoff. Why are they paid so much to waste time here? Actually it is quite entertaining, just observe... you will notice it.
Any managers looking at this board has information on when the country study will be out? I can’t wait for the information to be out and not dragged on further...
@2ginn+16zEvLP3 narrative is naive and funny, trying to demoralise our employees to doubt our own abilities.
If you’re still early in your career ( 5 years) in EM, it’s time to think of an exit plan before it’s too late. If you’re already deep into your career in EM and a poor performer, bite the bullet and take a lower salary alternative. It’s better than staying on and living under constant threat of being retrenched, while being treated like trash. If you’re a good performer and choosing to staying on, good luck taking over all the work from those who have left/are leaving. All this while your supervisor tells you that it’s a great “opportunity” to build your competency but you struggle to deliver the same results. Let’s all do our part for the management and help them cut headcount on our own, but let’s see who’s head will be cut as the workers on the ground get overloaded. Don’t expect the same results with fewer people.
@2ginn+16zEvLP3 Of course you would not expect an equal paying job. I would rather take a slight pay cut and switch to a more prospective industry, instead of staying on with stagnant progression and overwhelming workload. Regardless of your performance ranking, I’m sure this is something that has crossed everyone’s minds. What’s the point of striving so hard at the expense of your own mental health?
The employment market has already picked up and is good for those with experience/skills to offer, with pretty good increment.
@2ginn+16zEvLP3 I bet you didn't try or probably some timid managers saying that to convince their staffs not to look elsewhere, let's not be selfish.
@2fkok+16zEvLP3 Resign then go where? You think it’s so easy to get an equal-paying job nowsaday issit?
Have you really tested the job market to get an equivalent job at parity remuneration?
You don’t know what you don’t know OK.
EM had already made its name “famous” in the O&G industry, that the moment interviewers realise that you are from EM applying for a job - their immediate reaction is: you kena laid off issit?
Or perhaps, you are lowly ranked and trying to escape from the planned load shedding?
You think the other players out there are stoopid?
They will low-ball you with a meagre salary offer (nothing close to what you’ve been enjoying) and command a take-it-or-leave-it stance.
With all the layoffs and headcount reduction, it’s hard to stay motivated at work. Knowing how bleak the outlook of our industry is makes the situation even harder. The more false promises I hear from management that the increased workload can be managed, the more I find myself searching for other jobs and deliberating to resign.
How you know EM had hired the best? How you know every EM given their 100%?
Don't assume, you haven't met the actor yet.
: @2afpt+16zEvLP3
You got PIP in Jan 2021 mean you are NMPT. Your quarterly review got NSI?
@2bsvt+16zEvLP3
No need to create fake news because you never get it! It’s all about office politics and dirty tricks. Supervisors should be Given PIP because they cannot groom the people under them, truly poor leadership and poor planning. Everyone is trying to cover their own back side. They should be the first to let go !
Once the despicable trick of removing employee is used by the unethical company. The stain is remembered by all, the running dogs management still never wake up and continue to defend this full of shxt company. Your time will come, don't turn around and curse the company.
Think the claim of Jan gift likely is meant to be sarcastic lah, isn't it very obvious?
@2bsvt+16zEvLP3 - Nice try to shift the moral high ground away from its original ethical position. Don't forget we always hire the best, everyone gives their utmost 100% at work and doing a very good job (including you). All employees deserve respect, maintain their employment and no one should be laid off. Zero!
