Colleagues are still working hard it seems. So only a few empty threats online won’t change anything. So agree with the other poster that we need to rub some lubes on our a– then, and for a few years until DW is out of the picture. The hunger games will begin soon, and all of us are tributes.

Please approach your friendly lubricants colleagues located on the 8th floor to buy some Mobil SHC and wipe it on your a–hole because there will be some heavy duty screwing that the corporation will dish out to you in April. Good luck!

PIP is a performance enhancement tool. It sounds so nice but definitely not an improvement program. It comes with a warning letter to threaten the employee being potentially terminated without retrenchment benefits. How safe are you today? How safe are you tomorrow? How safe are we working in the plant this year when the jobs are insecure? Employees come to work with anger, frustrations. With such Low morales, how can the company expect us to contribute more than ever...

Out time have come to form union and shield ourselves if not totally, at least partially for unpredictable eventualities. Some employees got PIP and terminated already.

Agree. Pip is a perf tool similar to knife is a cutting tool. But it can also be used as a weapon to k–l .....issue is not the tool . Issue is the person handling the tool!

The supervisors will only talk about care when it’s required to talk about WeAreExxonMobil values. Otherwise. It’s the last thing on their minds!

How can anyone think it’s okay to lose people in such challenging times. By the way, those people didn’t contribute to the poor performance nor make poor strategic decisions which led us to this stage.

Does anyone care about the impacted folks one week after the onslaught? I don’t think so. In fact, a few of my remaining colleagues were discussing about how the company actually made the right decision get rid some of them. Especially our s— up supervisors who care about their boss more than our team. Compiling all our hard work and writing down in their PDS as their achievements. All the bad deeds they have done have resulted in karma.

Let me stress again - PIP is a performance enhancement tool.

Now stop spreading rumors and get back to work.

PIP is basically a cost reduction program.

Or you can just put the employee in NSI. Because when you volunteer one person in, no one will fight to get him out .

If you dislike one employee, subtly influence to align among management and rankers. Result is certain before the whole thing starts. Even easier if HR already have a sense. Use relativity as a reason when ever needed to defend the result. Sadly this is the process.

Recognition comes in the form of good job and a pat on the back. Don’t expect more.

By the way, you are at risk of being PIP, since everyone is doing relatively better. It’s just relative.

Long service awards have been removed. Boss, then what do I get for my recognition? I can only give you PIP or the 3 months pay.

Obviously the company wants to PIP us into profitability. But it doesn’t work this way. Really affecting the whole organization - and I don’t see anyone getting inspired by the new system.

Its true. No decent corporation will maintain their leadership team when it comes to retrenchment due to bad company performance .

basically it will be a downward spiral since it was this leadership that brought us to this state.

we need an external CEO with balls to make real change in the company not lip service corporate mambo jumbo.

look at the F&L leadership, none any proven ‘real’ business success in the real business world . however they are extremely successful in managing upwards and their career at the expense of the other employees .

whats gonna happen to us moving forward with clowns like them at the top!

@3kfse+16zEvLP3

Exactly.

The main question is how do EM value their Hi POs?

Bootlicking? Wayang? Powerpoint slides? WIN?

The paradox is this :
1)if you are so called hiPo and you choose to stay after seeing what is happening and will be happening and the decline trajectory .... that means u are not too smart afterall.
2) if you are hipo and yet afraid to leave for growth industries or companies , it only goes to show that u are only company centric hipo . To be exact , Em ‘s hi po not the real universal hi po.
To all the so-called hi pos out there , get real and don’t bluff or kid yourselves ... if U stay , u are just a fake hi po. For the real ones , no matter where they go , they will be hi pos . So stop bragging here . F

Those young and smart ones left, either by PIP or retrenchment or your find good place, good for you. Having something like this in your early days may not be bad thing. Those young and smart still undeciding, also good for you at least safe for now so you can have more time to up skills and find a better job. Those in mid career and stuck in your position, 10yr ++ hard to switch, good luck and hope company make tons of money, crude price up up... Good times are gone, whether hipo or not chances for a good overseas assignment deminished, if you do get one good luck, but chance is low.. still have expat around here cost $1m a year for one family but cut engineers, analysts to double up local ppl work.. no wonder the moral is low.

Why pay off workers when we can make it really uncomfortable, undesirable to work here with high workload and PIP them off. Saves $$$, which means there’s more to give as offerings to masters in Irving? The Singapore govt can’t do anything at all, when there’s foreign powers. Just look at how MCCY deal with the national day song. You expect MOM to be different. The minister of trade and industry will just tell you that you can’t compete, so need new skills and the country needs more foreigners to help you. Good luck and may the odds be ever in your favor.

Don’t think EM has enough budget for the next retrenchment. PIP will be the best solution to push out employees.

How about the WeAreExxonMobil committee? That one should be high visibility- and relatively straight forward. Just chant the usual BS of care of compete to win, winning and parrot what DW says - and it will be deemed a complete and absolute success. Is registration open yet? Or it’s only reserved for the hiPOs and boot lickers?

Please go to WIN instead. Heard recognition is higher there.

I have been tagged executive potential by management but I feel like quitting. Should I wait for package and continue to exhibit Weareexxonmobil values? I feel like if I continue to stay, I can kick more incompetent colleagues out first and maybe change the environment. Then I will pretend to show like I am sad they are leaving (you know you are doing it too) and we will meet again outside one day. I will do more ESRC activities and continue to leech off your membership money.
