You had asked the following question:
“No second wave...no TMTS wave...no NMPT wave...
Do you believe them?”

I don’t know if you are dumb or what?
Of course it is true!!!

No more TMTS means it’s GOOD for the company, cos there will be no more expensive severance package for those retrenched!

But BAD for the employees, of course!

Regardless the headcount onslaught will continue, in PIP form, over the next 2-3 years, as divisions and departments continue to be decimated to meet the original country study targets.

But the difference will be: No more (up to 25 months package) compensations. Fail PIP and you will get 1-month’s termination notice, plus encashed leave balance and pro-rata AWS (if any).

So the company WILL BENEFIT with no more TMTS or NMPT waves!
You, the employee will be the BIGGEST LOSER, from here on, with year after year of PIP salvos!

Q: Why do you still think that they are bluffing you?
I still don’t get you (a bit dense lah, IMHO).

KLTC should think twice investing their time and career in this company. Manufacturing sites are going downhill = company is going downhill. No maufacturing sites means no KLTC.

Kinda obvious operations are stuck in this company. This industry is sunset and its almost impossible to change industry unlike our peers who have a degree.

He can do whatever he like to the plant from home

Why must wait till you get a good package then you go?
If you want to go, then go! Your locker oredi cleared and on standby right?
Wait for what some more? !!!
Want to go, yet so money face, waiting to get big fat severance package?

The MLRP process has already ENDED. There will be NO second wave of MLRP!
So any hope of getting multiple-months package is gone and over!
Just be prepared to be NSI-ed in next PA, offered a PIP - and if you fail, then get a 1 month notice to leave (plus encashed leave balance and pro-rated AWS, if any).
That’s all you will get lah.

In DW’s eyes, if you can’t sing the #weareexxonmobil tune, you are not suitable for this company, no matter how many years you have. The 22 years are nothing in his eyes.

So let’s compete to win, provide clarity and pretend to show some care as well.

My 22yrs service in em is considered a waste of company's time and money.
How abt those 30 over years service then....good luck.
Better to hire more IT smart cheaper smarter hungrier younger faster and fitter new Technician.
The writings already all over the wall.
PIP is on the way.
Anyway already got my locker cleared on ever ready standby.
Dearest MGMT and boss just gimme the responsible packages like a world class company exxonmobil brandname has.

Haha, better still, shut down / sell off Sriracha Refinery & TARP and move the whole ETL PMTE over to Singapore to operate and maintain our plants here. Will definitely save so much $$$ in SWB!

I think Singapore employees are just too costly (with CPF and all) to be economically viable and will never be competitive in the overall scheme of things - if reducing our “cost to produce” and “cost to serve” are the overarching corporate goals in the new business environment.

In electronic manufacturing for example, it would be a simple decision to up-stick and redeploy to lower-cost countries like China, Vietnam, Malaysia - but for O&G manufacturing, we just have too much sunk capital assets, which is illiquid and not portable. So if we cannot port over sunk assets to a cheaper site, then we should seriously consider porting over lower-cost labour over here instead, to operate them!

I think if we move some of the process and technical staff from Sriracha Refinery, to operate the SG plant here, pay them in THB with living allowances (with no trailing families) - they’d still be cheaper than hiring locals!!
Not forgetting that TARP is now shutdown indefinitely, we can also bring the whole Aromatics PMTE lock, stock and barrel, to operate SAR1 or SAR2 at a much lower cost also.
I think I am going to suggest this Opex-saving initiative in our next staff meeting.
Whatever it takes to save more cash (for dividends) for DW and his merry board. Buahahaha !!!

DW is asking you to s— his wood if you don’t like how the company is run. As far as he’s concerned, the board is behind him. Whining employees from a far flung place like Singapore won’t hurt him. So complain all you want on this board, but nothing is gg to change, other than your employment status when you get PIPed

We had some regrettable ones who left but I agree the rest deserves to leave. Especially entitled new hires who thinks they are the best. They bring nothing but problems with their spoilt complaints. Truly a strawberry generation that should stay at home and continue drinking milk out of their bottle.

country study was important in getting rid of id–ts. we have s—ups, useless supervisors, the egoistic colleagues, the pretenders who sit at their desks and do nothing and ask stupid questions. it was a great purge of leeches. Hurray! and big karma to the supervisors and managers who are constantly looking at moving singapore jobs overseas to other countries. guess it comes and bites u in the end

DW ‘s name will go down in history as the worst CEO . The CEO that sails the titanic aground. Poor and weak leadership. He could have taken the path of the unconventional ( from his successors) by slaying the sacred cows of pay and div cut to save the workforce . Instead he took the easy way out by throwing the pple (ranks and files that help built the company) overboard instead of himself and his leadership team. Who steer the ship? Who set the direction towards collision? How did we get from cash rich and self financing position to become cash strapped today ? The ranks and files ? If it’s in Japan , the leadership team will have bowed and apologise to the employees and accepts the failure and quits . Unlike this shameful team, continuing to enrich himself and his cronies while throwing the innocent overboard ! Look at how he tries to block engine 1 from electing new board members you will be able to know how he and his cronies work !
