Part of the supervisors’ job is to sell a beautiful tomorrow. So keep applying and leave.

One colleague was gifted, always have insider news from solid higher sources. Surprised everyone with the departure and landed on a safer pasture. Was told to quickly get the prorated aws before it cease.

There are opportunities, just not in SG. It’s going to be in India or China. The only way when you are going to have opportunities in SG is to have potential 40.

Start by joining WIN k?

My supervisor told me that there’s lots of opportunities especially when there’s so many people leaving, but reliable sources have told me he’s looking for a job himself. True story. #weareexxonmobil values here - compete to win, even if it means talking sh– to your reports.

My supervisor asked us not to leave and that there are opportunities. But he resigned after.

Why wait to be PIP. Might as well start looking now, u still get paid to look around. And the best part is you get to start your new job earlier, build your credentials. Why waste time with this company, waiting for a leadership that says appreciate you with lip service but PIPing you in the background?

You will only spend time in EM when you have no better options?

@3Chuy+16zEvLP3

The no-brainer option obviously!

(B) Go through the motion of PIP for 3 months, only to get the salary and fail it anyway, then leave.

Make full use of the 3 months to attend interviews to land another job and still get PAID by EM!!!

Don’t know which forms you are talking about but I know of people who got nice bumps in their pay when leaving. More responsibilities may not be a bad thing for your career. And if you can’t find something good, it means EM is offering something viable for you and 8% NSI is just part of the game.

Mid-life EM employees who had gone for outside interviews had already realised for many years - that for the same job scope, they will be offered a lower pay, and for the same pay, they will need to take on much more responsibilities!

At this site, all lower rank complaining, manager and FT laughing here.

Technician basic 5k, engineer about 10k, manager above 15k. If you compare same industry, you might said comparison. But if you compare to other industry, you all were highly pay. That why now you can't find a job that match your current pay. If you want to have this pay, then stay on. If really tired of EM culture, just leave EM and get pay cut.

Frankly speaking, technician daily perform routine work, Manager doing LPO, OCVM paper work, all skill were not relevant to outside world, but all getting so high pay. All should be satistying at this covid situation.

Since there is a close to 10 pct chance for any of us to be PIP-ed this year, what will you do?
(A) Accept PIP and work your a– out, to try and pass?
(B) Go through the motion of PIP for 3 months, only to get the salary and fail it anyway, then leave?
(C) Tender your resignation immediately with a month’s notice and get the 1 month salary?

Agree with @3Cufi+16zEvLP3 that AWS can be reduced. If you look at your employment contract or even past Job Advertisement, it says something like this “Historically, we have been paying an AWS of 3 months”. This implies that AWS can be cut. FYI, EM has never cut AWS before but given how they handle layoffs, it can happen. The most they did was “wage freeze” and not wage-cuts.

I hope that they do not touch the AWS as it amounts to wage cut .

If aws is cut sure more to leave. The Impact is more to MPT and higher CL group. Cut 2 mth aws 30 to 50k cut not good for high salary group...

Indeed, if you quit now, you are a winner. You get prorated 3 months AWS. If you can’t quit then you can’t blame the company for treating you like a wh–e.

Lol, you lot damn lazy to check your facts. Only want to read things that confirm your bias. Go google what AWS is. It is not compulsory and can be reduced.

It is definitely a mess and lowest morale ever. Ppl r leaving once a great reputation co. Leaders don't know how to lead but only manage up. Drill down ground workers ... Leading out of crisis need true leader. Not selfish people looking at KPIs how to preserve well in front if higher management. Doing stupid things never.mind waste time value never mind as long as number looks good. Lpo lpsa. Nli. Webcat...ocvm..dont let them down..but let you down to protect each other's territory.. keep doing.

To all of you who are concerned about the “bonus” cut, please avoid using this term as it linked to the performance of the company and they rightfully can reduce it when business is bad. The 3-month is called AWS (Annual Wage Supplement”) which forms a part of your “base” salary.

If I am not mistaken, the use of AWS is to optimise the Wage cost, viz. time-value of money, CPF contributions, health/life insurance, etc..., ie annual salary paid over 15-month instead of 12- month.

Heard that the bonus announcement will be out soon, either 2nd or 3rd Qtr. I am trying my best, Faster find a job and run! At least my bonus is been prorated if l leave by June and is still a good 1.5 months. Applying my LPSA: Worst case scenario, bonus adjusted to 1 month will be very sad for most of us.

Quitting is for the winners. It is not our job to fix the situation. Hate to say this but it is the situation, not giving up in the job hunt!

@3Bwjp+16zEvLP3 Concur. We should practice Diversity & Inclusion for the next few rounds, felt that supervisors and managers are missing out of the great feeling of being PIP-ed..

We are ExxonMobil

The attrition is still very low in Singapore. Definitely enough to support another 8% PIP. By the way, 3 PIPs and you are gone!!!

You think too highly of yourself. I don't believe management/hr is worried at all. So many hungry coyotes ready to pounce on those positions. Yawn, next.

With more resignations and elevated (worst-than-expected) attrition rates - especially from the 40 year old employees, I think Management and HR are getting worried!
They initially thought that attrition could be allowed to take its course, but it’s turning out now to be an undamped oscillation and impacting on the organisation’s basic stability criteria - that if not mitigated, could turn out into an irreversible decimation of our MTE workforce (minus the initial “P”, who are majority-NMPT).

The problem with this company is the “ Mgmt “ thinks you are overpaid not them being overpaid ! So cutting bonus to save your job is doing you a favour ! Such thinking is very prevalent among the Mgmt. They said we will continue to reward “performers” not knowing these so called performers are able to perform is because pple lend them the shoulders to climb .... when they are up there they forget they are standing on shoulders of their fellow colleagues. They tot they float in air ! Let them see how they can perform if the ranks and files don’t execute the plan flawlessly ... they need to be taught a painful lesson before they become humble leaders . Otherwise these executives are just good at spinning stories and upward Mgmt . Show them what they are really made of ...

The more you think bonus cut can't happen, the more it will. Policy works perfectly only when there is an element of surprise.

But how can they jus reduce our bonus when this is part of our salary remuration listed in our employment contract? Is like part of our pay package in black and white.

No need to argue guys.
Bonus becomes 1 month in 2021.
No incremental in 2022.
Confirmed.

Good luck y'all in your job hunting.

Thank you for the response. 140-160K annual is comparable to what other big MNCs are offering. I left years ago and sometimes wondered what my salary would be like if I had stayed. It's always good to know the benchmark. Jiayou and good luck to those on a job hunt.

So many young people have left, to name a few, TSS, advisors, engineers... was told by BOSS, still no idea whether our bonus is in good hand, pray hard or look for somewhere else more green. This year already no increment, don’t hope too much in 2022. All our $$ bonus and increment will be reserved for the dividend payout.

Stop flaunting how well paid you are / were. I think these guys have been living in your ixory tower for too long. You do not know what is outside world......at least you know how much your contractors staff are paid..... can you do their job well or not? How many section heads / managers you need in a company? Every few years the bottoms all want to be promoted to heads / managers. Wake up ....... Now the top management has realised a lot of redundancy or too many jia liao bi.

For the 6.5K (30 plus), you really have to know where you stand..... have a view of your own.... short change or not.... you have a choice.
