Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

VZW severance and Texas unemployment

Does anyone know if I will be eligible to file for unemployment in Texas if I take the severance option.

Thank you.

@4srm: welcome to the union infested management layoff board. Nothing posted here is even remotely trustworthy. Union members actively and maliciously post inaccurate information. You're actually better off asking on a random board. At least IBEW and CWA members might not be there to try to misdirect you intentionally.

I already checked and it shows that you have to file and it’s up to the state if your type of severance will allow you to receive unemployment.

Why the f— do you think I’m on this specific message board. If I wanted to go to a “random” message board why would I specifically go to lay-off.com and go to Verizon’s page and post something.

Using a random message board instead of checking with your state’s unemployment office, I think I may understand why you were let go.

I did not leave voluntarily, there was a reduction in my department and I was effected by it.

It is not my choice to leave, all I am trying to do is ask a f—ing question I don’t understand why all these trolls have to attack everyone they come in contact with.

I appreciate the feedback so far.

No if you left voluntarily, go find a job. Don’t be a burden to society.
