Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Over 40 and laid off from WFC? You hit the jackpot!

In many of the below cases, the settlement exceeded millions of dollars.

Wells is following the same playbook as IBM - replace expensive american workers with much cheaper indian workers.

But IBM former employees fought back - and won.

Your max severance today IF YOU SIGN is only 6 months salary.

DONT TAKE THE BAIT!

Get a lawyer, let them review. Follow exactly what lawyer tells you.

Most corporations are scared to death of discovery and will usually settle for WAY more than that measely 6 months severance.

The original poster of this topic is either a troll/instigator (trying to stir things up) or completely uneducated on Wells' severance program or both.

dont put much effort into this place, they have wrong thinking and trying to make company and country fail. Keep this as a temp job and get other revenue streams. Dont leave any money on the table, dont take it personaly. Of course if you can get that much money from discrimination, then that is better revenue.

In any case, I am set to make $680k this year with maintaining multiple lines of revenue. Hope to retire in 7 years at 42.

I got offer at premier tech company, here pay is horrible, no wonder these types of banks are so far behind and not doing well with hiring unqualified workers out of the country. Offer from successful company:

Base: around $160K
Bonus: around $25K
Equity: around $280K for 4 years
TC: around $260K

These types of companies stock is soaring even during a pandemic. Guess these banks need to find a new playbook, one that is successful!

The one useful part to this post is to absolutely talk to a lawyer if you are over 40 and offered a severance. By law you have 21 days to consider the offer and the right to consult an attorney.

You are ignorant. The policy is quite clear and provides 2 weeks per year (expires at some point). The package was better a few years ago, but this person has no clue.

They update severance policy? A week ago it still read 2 weeks for every year capped at 52 weeks
