The work culture is hostile. People who should be fired are protected. Bullying atmosphere.

trim the fat. Fire anyone who opened fake accounts for bonuses, close 20% brick and mortar. Aggressive moves to online banking. Make more public announcements on assets cap progress. Lobby congress to remove cap or at least raise cap. And of course massive layoffs only a fool doesn't see its needed.

@rpn - The CISO is a mess on his own accord. That he allowed his position to stay under technology shows his lack of knowledge. He needs to go first, then start cleaning up ICS.

I'd look at why it takes so long to get anything done. The bank has a huge problem with execution and I think it's due to the complexity of all of the systems that the bank has implemented over the years.

If I was the CEO I would read this site daily. There is so much that is shared here that has been hiding in numerous layers of management bureaucracy.

Agree with holding development teams accountable. Very little of that is happening and as a consequence the results are not good.

Things he is doing right

1 - Span of control YES too many managers doing nothing but managing managers and managing up and not down.
2 - Eliminate consultants YES hire people to do the job in the company and hold them accountable

What he needs to do
1 - He needs to actually meet with worker minions and understand the issues. Example - I was on a call and the tech team said it would take 9 months to add a value in a pre-existing dropdown. That is ridiculous. He could then go to the teams that make these decisions and eliminate inefficiencies. There is no way anyone in EIT wants red tape like this but my guess is between the LOB and tech red tape we have this paralysis.

2 - Hold teams accountable. I got an email where someone in Commercial had an idea that all customer address info should be centralized so that you did not have to go into multiple systems to update. The answer was DMI is working on that. The truth is DMI has been working on it for THREE PLUS YEARS and it is right next to The Dead Sea I mean the Data Lake. Great Power Point but no guts. Thats square on DMI - big idea and lots of excuses.

So that's my focus and that points fingers at everyone. But these 3 or 4 down managers have no clue what is really going on - he needs to actually talk with the people pushing the buttons and talking to the customers

  1. Put customers first, employees second, shareholders last. Business would thrive and all would profit.
  1. Reduce the size of the corporation. Sell off non-core business lines. Facts are in and we are too big to manage properly.
  1. Reduce the disparity in pay between the worker bees, at $15/hour, and the C-Suite. Create more of a team environment.
  1. Get rid of all the contractors, which Charlie is doing.
  1. Moral intelligent leaders at the top who lead by example, are accountable, who get to know the business and the employees, and build a new company culture where all can thrive..

I would clean up the mess in ICS under the CISO. Place is littered with toxic, do nothing legacy employees who protect one another.
