The “someone is angry” statement is patronizing and insulting.. Sounds like something a schoolyard bully would say after they just stole your lunch.

I don’t think anyone should get themselves in trouble by seeking revenge, but seeking justice is different. Revenge is emotional. Justice is rational. Revenge is about retaliation, while justice is about restoring balance or seeking equality.

This isn’t the classic scenario where a pandemic hit, and a well-run company now regretfully has to reduce their workforce. This is a situation where 25,000 to 50,000 hard-working employees are going to lose their jobs during a pandemic due to years of arrogant mismanagement, across-the board fraud and reckless greed. All while our former C-Suite rides out the pandemic in their country homes. And if anyone here think only the employees who supposedly “deserve to go” are going to be laid off while the good ones get to keep their jobs, that is very naive thinking.

Honestly, I don’t understand why more employees are not more up in arms. I respect and admire the whistleblowers, and the employees who have engaged the press and Congress. They are heroes and have helped to reveal the company for what is is and have protected our customers and shareholders. There are other moves you can make to take control over this scenario also. You should be actively improving your skills and seeking a new job at a company who values their employees. But, if you can find a way to legally level the playing field: yes, I would wholeheartedly encourage and support that.

Very few of the people who have made decisions that led to overspending will pay the consequences, but many many people who did not contribute to any of the problems will suffer. That is more than sufficient reason to be angry. I personally know of a situation where a fairly senior executive signed a $1 million plus check to a consultant to do the job her team was hired to do. Is she going to lose her job? Probably not. Will a half a dozen other people? Probably.

The thread is about reporting fraudulence if there is any to be seen, not about burning anything down.

Someone's angry. They have to cut jobs. They are overspending above all standards. I'm sorry if you lose your job its truly terrible. But your burn down the house philosophy usually burns the arsonist too. Accept and prosper elsewhere. You will recover

What reality are you referring to?

All I see is a company with terrible problems, and the solution seems to be many very rich white men getting fake jobs with huge paychecks. One year later, next to nothing has changed. There is still an asset cap, still more customer abuse, and now mass layoffs.

Short list of things that actually happened aligning to OPs examples

  1. Head of Consumer lying to BOD
  2. Head of Consumer of Risk deleting “bad news”
  3. Developers getting uncontrolled access to prod environments
  4. Board Members blowing off regulators to go on vacay
  5. Mortgage customers getting unwanted forbearance agreements they didn’t request
  6. Fraudulent force placed auto insurance
  7. Millions of fraudulent accounts opened
  8. Multi-day .com outages due to bad BCP and broken failover

It isn’t an ax to grind. A good amount of the problems came to light because of whistleblowers. If you think reporting crimes is just detrimental to your career, and not just the proper thing to do, you really need to check yourself for questionable ethics.

This is over the top but I would rather go down fighting, than be a well-behaved lamb waiting for the axe to drop.

This is fantastic advice!

Store this number in your phone.

Start collecting evidence of wrongdoing.

Its so easy - take pictures of your screen with your phone and save them in a safe place.

When the axe falls, so does chukkies stock price after occ gets new evidence of shenanigans.

OCC is obliged to protect whistleblowers.

Wells Fargo is supposed to, but they are the same corrupt bunch as before....dont waste your time going to ethics line.

You don’t seem very educated. It is corporate America. Layoffs happen every year. They are not doing anything illegal. Get over it.
