Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Vision values &goals

Anyone happen to notice we no longer have a vision, values and goals statement? Seems odd considering the amount of transformation we need to do. I guess we just need those new “expectations”..

LOL, a senior manager complained to support staff about the increased taxes he had to pay once he married his partner, and TOLD THEM THE AMOUNT! His tax increase was more than what they earned. AND he proceeded to share photos of the house he was renovating and discussing the cost. Absolutely clueless.

Yeah, I have noticed an alarming level of "humble brags" in most executive communications. Clearly, certain Top Executives have honed the art of being disingenuous, phony modesty – (i.e. "How can I be so rich/talented/smart –yet also so modest"?).

Props to late great comedian/writer Harris Wittle (NBC Parks and Rec) for coining the term.

Favorite game is counting humble-brags during Saul Van Beurden's "Ask Me Anything." Extra points when he mentions vacation travels.

Also watch for the Humble Brag Photo: The Humble Bragger is pretending to do some charity or volunteer work while you can see the backdrop of a luxurious clubroom." CEO Charlie gets points for his video from his man cave with not one but probably Seven custom guitars in the background.

@1fxt: Oh man!! I love that term “humble-brags”. I must be naive but I’ve never heard the term before. But I sure do hear plenty of humble-brags. I would sometimes listen to someone speaking in a meeting, and would feel aggravated but could never put my finger on why a seemingly modest statement got under my skin. You know, the people who always manage to casually slip in how much they give to charity, but “they don’t really want people to know how giving they are.” I feel like a light just turned on.

Those would be the "In the Moment with Mandy" blogs? Thought I was being trolled but they keep pumping out these "insights". They are phony, banal and packed with humble-brags.

Let's just keep it simple and make the new motto: "Don't create fake accounts."

I would expect an tidal wave of corporate gibberish and nonsensical buzzwords as layoffs heat up. Great for distraction. Maybe some more insipid - err "inspirational" – blogs from Mandy and her minions. Always tone-deaf, sometimes delusional but often hilariously out-of-touch.

Pretty sure it’s been replaced with “Leading Through Transformation”.
