I went by the plant in Tucson a few weeks ago and was surprised to see the Honeywell sign still up.
AS far as I know there were only a handful of Honeywell employees left. With the market the way it is Celestica won't last there. I worked there for 35 years and was able to retire before Celestica took over.

@2tue+ - you might be just stoking fear to our poor members in India but if there is a cut it will be concentrated in Developed Regions rather than High Growth Regions. Less cuts likely in India and even if there was, there'd be even more in other regions. Regardless, of they're expertise or lackof, they are still only a third of the cost of a guy in the US of A. Go figure....

I'm still not finding anything online about Tucson or Tempe. Any hard data?

Current demand for avionics is basically zero. There are hundreds of planes sitting in inventory and until those are gone there is no business to sell. If they do sell it would be for pennies on the dollar.

Commercial passenger aviation has plateaued at about 30-40% below peak and shows no sign of improving.

Likely scenario is continued cost cutting and footprint consolidation until we rebalance at the new demand levels. Once that is achieved all bets are off.

Expect 2021 honeywell aero to be 40 percent less than 2019 aero. So far we have managed to shed between 15 and 18 percent if you combine attrition and RIF. Not a pretty picture for the next year but realistic.

To achieve these goal large layoffs in India will be necessary. So HTS people ... heads up. This economy is coming for you.

Anybody got any idea if the entire avionics manufacturing business is going to be sold off.

Why all the Torrance haters. We're not all "Lefty Tree Huggers" If Torrance moves it will take years, but I doubt it.

Manufacturing was also sold to Celestica in Tucson going on 3 years ago.
There is a Honeywell skeleton Engineer presence there. Most engineering work is already done in India, PR and elsewhere. I assume when the contract with Celestica is over, there will not be a Tucson Honeywell Aerospace anymore.

I thought Tucson was sold a few years back and was being ran by another company.

Hello Raytheon. Or move to Seattle and join Amazon SpaceX BlueOrigin Microsoft. All are hiring more aggressively than Raytheon.

If they won’t offer a package then take a job in honeywell anywhere and ghost at first chance. Sorry to be that way but this is how they are treating us.

Not even filing warn notices ... no press coverage of scale. Time to start hitting trumps twitter account to get him to shame honeywell.

Heard this too. But not all to Phoenix, some to PR, some to Torrance. Engineers in Tucson have to apply for positions elsewhere in HW.
