Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

WF Tuotion Reimbursement Program suspended?

A poster said a program application qualified for reimbursement – but WF sent email saying tuition reimbursement program suspended for remainder of 2020 and to reapply in 2021.

Probably because WF does not want to reimburse people being laid off...dust settles a bit in 2021 :(

Would be nice for this (and all other cuts) to be announced via email, on Teamworks, etc. But they don't want widespread panic beyond what it already is – gotta' make sure the serfs stay productive!

So much for transparency!

Wow if this is true that's terrible news. I was reimbursed for degree expenses in April without issue.

Weird- the program is still listed in the benefits under teamwork’s with nothing stating it’s been suspended..

I am sure it is “justified” as some would say it’s impossible to send out communication changes on every benefit change, which I would probably agree with. I just have the benefits link saved and keep checking the “salary continuation” benefit- I.e severance pay- book marked and check in weekly to see if that has changed. Because I wouldn’t put it past this organization to change that and not communicate it

How is this not getting more.attention?

I was about to file paperwork and didn't even know this was going on!

I'm sure of the 80K layoffs, this will be an added money-saving benefit for the company. But at least be transparent to all.

This happened to me too. Was approved after 8 months. Applied back in 2019 and was finally approved in 2020. Bought the books and was told recently the program was cut. There was no mention of a pay back for sunk costs. Just an email saying the company is cutting expenses and to try again next year. This is Independent Risk Management. The email went out to a very large distribution list.

My colleague ran into the same thing two weeks ago re: degree program and was pi55ed! Talk about bait and switch. I guarantee someone is going to sue the company over this.

Are you saying there is no tuition reimbursement for college degree programs rest of 2020? Or is this something else? I haven’t seen anything about that on teamwork’s and have received no communication.
