Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

It's July 31. Buckle up. Ride is just beginning.

While some were notified of layoffs in July, the large-scale ramp up begins in August.

It's like a rollercoaster ride... the cranking sound you hear as you head to the peak of the scary ride is spans and layers changes and title changes in August.

Then, we'll experience the sheer drop-off Sept. through Nov., when layoff notices are at a fever pitch (WF wants 60-day periods complete by Jan. 1, 2021, so headcount is off the books in new year). The screams will be deafening when that plummeting (and pummeling) takes place.

Kind of what happened with our stock price, too.

Be kind to each other. Darkest days ahead at WF.

The OP seems to be one of the people who posts every few months that the end is not just near, but here.

I'm sure layoffs are coming, management telegraphed that ahead, but the folks saying "oh man, oh man, it's going to be horrible and it STARTS TOMORROW" seem to be mostly pushing dog-sheegies.

Why would "premiere bankers" aka the most entitled people at the company, not get it? I deal with these folks all the time and they think they know your job more than you. If I was a premier banker, I'd be worried. What makes them think they cant be replaced by better trained personal bankers at a lower pay grade??

Be kind to each other? Forget it. I hope all my useless, incompetent colleagues get axed. Serves them right for kissing up to management instead of doing what needed to be done around here.

OP- Maybe you can peruse a career in writing scary books for children in your next role.
Yes, people are going to lose their job. Let’s not make it sound like a game show people play. This is people livelihood we are talking about.

I don’t believe we’ve seen anything yet. The extra $600 unemployment benefit ends today - there could be a huge wave of defaults coming...

Assuming 60 day notice, then October 30 would seem to be the "deadline" for the first rollercoaster ride.

Will the layoffs also include retail branch employees... especially Premier Bankers??

Thank you for posting this. It aligns with everything our mgr has told our team.

It's going to get much worse before it has any hope (slim) of getting better.

Eventually, we will all look back on this time as pivotal in our lives and careers.
