COBRA

Does anyone know if one is eligible for COBRA if one quits and only gives 1 or 2 days notice? The only disqualifier I read about is if your conduct is considered gross negligence. Would giving your employer a day or two notice qualify as gross negligence? I'm ready to move on and can't wait around any longer, package or no package. Thank in advance.

Yea you'd be eligible but it may cost a lot more than signing up for a plan on the marketplace(obamacare) especially if you can get a subsidy with low income

Thank you for your question. You are eligible for COBRA when your coverage ends regardless to why your employment ended (gross misconduct, voluntary separation, involuntary separation), and you can expect to receive information regarding continuing your coverage within 2 weeks of your separation date.

I wouldn’t bother with COBRA. The rates are so ungodly high that they are not affordable.

If you gotta go, just leave. Enter your last working hours. Log out and turn in your badge and laptop at any branch to be sent to thru interoffice mail to your manager or HR Advisor. Or you can send it all in by FedEx or UPS. Just make sure you get a tracking number.

If you need to go to the doctor for a physical or dentist for a regular cleaning do it now before you depart. Same with any family members on your plan. Also let the doctor know your situation and ask for 90 and 180 day medication supplies while you have coverage.

My doctor cut my rate/price since I had no insurance. You can work with your healthcare provider and dentist.

Best of luck to you.
