Many many posts ago people were mentioning they got a prompt to verify their address or something when they logged into peoplesoft. Can anyone verify if this was a signal of a layoff? Some said it was to make sure the address was correct to receive the FedEx pkg. No trolls, please. Not the time to be cruel.

I've seen plenty of people like this person throughout my career. Every manager they have is an id–t. They'll always find some excuse to complain that the decisions are wrong and they would be able to it better. They are p-ss-d because they get looked over at every opportunity for advancement. Sad thing is they are too stupid to see they are the one with the issues.
They are great at their job skill wise but to management they are the complainer, naysayer and eye roller. How do you promote someone like that?

This is why you need to be a teller who can fake their way to being an engineering manager.
I was prompted to update my W4 a couple months ago Two weeks ago I was laid off. Coincidence, I don’t know.
But as a Manager who has had to lay associates in the past, the script includes a question to verify your address so they can send you your fed ex package Including severance paperwork.
For me, I was very close to retirement so the severance package was a gift from heaven. I was lucky but I have thoughts and prayers that will be let go. But I have hope as we have a great group of teammates that have given their all for all the legacy organizations that they have worked for.
Let everyone go with the luck of the Irish and land in their feet and continue to prosper!!!!

I doubt any new computers are coming, I think they said it will be BYOD soon enough, unless that is wrong?

I am a manager with less than 7 direct reports. I received a prompt in Peoplesoft to verify my W4 information, including If address was correct the 3rd week in August 2020. There was an admin. on this forum who sat in on the Operating Committee discussions, and that person Stated that HR was using the W4 prompt to verify employee addresses so severance packages can be sent. Maybe someone else has insight on this topic?
They are sending out covid safety supplies too. Anniversary gifts, new computers, badges.
