August updates to employee handbook

Teamworks has a link today outlining all the updates to the employee handbook for Aug 2020. They are quite extensive and suggest you give them a gander.

They have wiped out all mentions of vision and values. They have added a spot that allows you to look for a new job if your job is relocated 20 miles or more from your current location. And a ton more. All mentions of team members are now employee.

to @dnp+16SKfz2t: in CA it's the law that employees can discuss their comp with each other.

I've never read it and never will. I'm there to make money and move on when I have enough saved up. Some people are too attached and entitled. You don't like the bank, then leave.

Columbus Day and Veterans Day aren’t listed, but the text says “up to 10 paid holidays”, but 8 are listed. I wonder what the deal is with the discrepancy, perhaps the NYSE schedule for some businesses. Deleting two paid holidays after we just got them like in 2016 or so would really stink.

Looks like we also lost 2 holidays in the update. No Columbus or Veterans days listed now.

I love how they had the balls to show the edits with strike throughs to rub it in. I loved the term team member and all of the verbiage that used to be there. The change to employee makes is super clear (embracing candor!!) that there is no “us”. There’s the folks at the top and then there are us lowly employees. I’m an expense and a tool to deliver profits. That may technically be true on a balance sheet. I am a “resource”, but damn, it’s a blow to have that view shoved in my face. And you are taking my phone away that I need to do my damn job. I’m done with this place. Bye!

International colleague here. "Team Member" always made us cringe, especially in the beginning until we got used to it. Similarly, tenure badges and certificates - I threw them in the bin straight away.

Axing the term "Team Member" has really gotten to some of you. You are allowed to continue to treat other's in the company the same way you have before. Just because some a– clown comes in to the company (sorry, the firm), and changes some terminology doesn't mean we have to change the way we behave towards one another. Some of us will still be around when said a– clown moves on. Don't let the b–tard win.

Oh, and Charlie - you are the a– clown in this comment. You know, just for candor and all...

I was a 10 year WF “Team Member” before being severed right after the Thanksgiving Holidays. No warning, my boss, SVP was told of my severance only 30 minutes prior, always received solid 4’s, never ever had any issues or complaints. My transgression was that I hit the magical age of 61. Close enough to the 63 year old age to receive SS. And the wonderful mathematical formula, algorithm served up my employee number, a.k.a came up. Much like my draft number during our venture in Southeast Asua, a.k.a., Vietnam.

I never liked the euphemism of TEAM MEMBER, I always felt the it was condescending. Now I see that I was right. It reminded me of my Huey, I had a slogan painted on the front saying, “ We’re from the Govt. and we’re here to help”, Adios MF’s

I found it interesting they put in specifically that employees can’t be reprimanded for discussing pay or incentives...

please this is stupid, they're making these changes because regulators told them too. They want to snuff out any mention of trying to be a winner or doing right by our stockholders. Some times I feel like the gov't took this company over, trashed it, and turned it into a pu–y organization.

The gutted the disability section. You know who they consider low hanging fruit. Mark this post when they get in trouble for that.
