Shrewsberry on WF Veterans. How Clueless is he?

https://www.linkedin.com/posts/johnshrewsberry_new-best-for-vets-employers-rankings-for-activity-6706557252540731392-psB4/

This guy is clueless and has no idea how things work in reality and how poorly some people are treated because of their status as a military reserve members. Some employees either leaving because of it or making futile attempts at filing ER/Ethics complaints against their managers with little to no recourse against them, especially if the manager is one of the old timers that people speak of.

I'd encourage him to speak with the leadership of the WF Veteran's Network as well as to research all HR and ER complaints filed against managers by employees and that are related to military service.

Some of the stuff that happens would make the OCC cringe. Perhaps they will be looking in to this as part of the MRA relating to WF's HR business practices.

ER as in Emergency Room? Maybe with all the people getting canned that will be important!

@zab here, who asked the ER person to explain why a previous comment comment about ER is bs. Is that you, answering under @1rtz or @1buc? I can’t tell.

The CFO is an a–hole like most of the finance leaders under him. Color, heartless, black and white only . Back stabbers. Stick their nose in so much and think they don't have to do things sent by other groups. They are already realizing their changes didn't make things better

You really should educate yourselves on the process. You act as is ER is the only group performing those functions. There might be lazy people and investigations that are not thorough enough but plenty care and want to catch some of the jerks doing wrong. If there isn't evidence or enough smoke, then they can't do much. Email is your friend. Use it creatively if folks are doing wrong

Uh, there is the EthicsLine and the ER eForm. When you file an EthicsLine complaint, it is researched and then handed off to a different ER group depending on the nature of the EthicsLine submission.

I can tell you that if you dispute your mid year or end of year and have documented evidence, it will go nowhere. ER's response will be to talk to your manager. If your managers manager likes your manager, it especially will go nowhere.

The only time anyone cares is if you have documented evidence that your manager retaliated against you, committed fraud, or violated a company policy.

@rno Maybe the people in ER have good intentions, but “the book“ they go by is not good. HR/ER exists to ultimately serve the interests of and to protect the bank not the employees. They seem terribly understaffed. Long waits on hold after going through brutal phone trees. Trust was lost during the whole firing of 5000 employees and whistle blowers in 2016. And then the company that now handles employee complaints, according to many, is a hot mess. I have personal experience with that, after being interviewed regarding another employee’s complaint towards our manager. That company was about as stealth as a jackhammer. Just my experience, though. Why do you think it is bs?

That's bs on ER and ethics. You obviously must not even be a WF employee because they aren't called ethics. Most ER folks really do care and want to help people but go by the book.

  1. Shrewsberry is leaving so i don’t think he would have any interest in talking to anyone.
  2. He posted a link to an article written by someone else. Seems the writer of the article should be filled in.

The bigger problem is that ER and Ethics groups are ineffective. ER and Ethics want all problems to go away so I wouldn’t be surprised if senior leaders don’t see or hear anything.

Or just military in general - had to leave a dept as manager was a former military brat and said it was all he could see in me so he was going to take it upon himself to “train it out of me”......
