How can Wells Fargo expect employees to donate money to the Community Support Campaign when we don’t know if we’ll be laid off? I was a large contributor last year. I will not be this year due to the lack of transparency in knowing if I’ll be fired.

I want to give to and support the charities or interests that are meaningful to me, not Wells Fargo or anyone else. Whether it be a local food pantry, the animal shelter where I got my pet, a nursing home where the residents could use a warm vest, a neighbor who is down on their luck. Tax deductible or not. Quietly and intentionally. Giving is a very personal choice. It should come from the heart, and not from being ruthlessly pressured by my employer who is looking for the positive PR. I can’t believe I’ve succumbed to the pressure for so many years now. It actually makes me feel nauseous just thinking about it. I wish I had stood up for myself in that regard.
Corporations are involved in unethical charities like United Way. UW keeps an enormous amount for themselves. Find charities you trust. Salvation Army actually gives a large amount to the needy.
No, I’m not feeling it and a lot of the fun is being there in person playing games, etc. I donate a lot of money and time in other ways that i dont feel guilty.
Since when did Wells Fargo stop matching? I want to donate to any Soros nonprofit.
No I prefer donating on my own especially since they did away with matching.
I am donating, yes....to my savings account! Nobody knows if they will have a job in 2 months so I save. I also donated to my beer 🍺🍻money slush fund.
I don't give $$ through any employer or biz unless there is a matching component.
In the past i have reported through the portal but that appears to be changing as well.

Not a penny. Wells Fargo is laying off tens of thousands of American workers. You might be one of them. Aside from the fact that you might need the money, are you in a mood to help Wells Fargo’s executives get feel-good publicity?
Note, no quarrel here with the layoffs if there’s a business need. I’m not naive. But asking at the same time for my charity money to be washed through the organization so it can put its stamp on it is an exercise in futility, sorry.

My department was sold last year, but some of us will be around until early 2021. WF said since we're leaving (going to the new company or being laid off) to make our donations in a lump sum instead of payroll deductions to make sure we make our full donations before we're gone. They don't want any unemployed people getting away with anything.
Maybe a cap now, but a few years ago there wasn't.
The person that’s saying “rich” people got “we care” funds is not true- there’s an annual income limit (50k I believe) and they also do a needs check on budget/financials
I can't give to wells and then give to other charities also. I gave to the "we care fund" , which has done much good to some and a hand out to those who didn't need it but took. I've known man rich individuals who filed claims and easily had funds to cover . The process should have income limits.
Nope. I’ll keep my money for my family. Wells Fargo isn’t gonna donate to me if they lay me off.
