What is with the sudden flurry of posts and comments from people who claim to "love their job" or "love Wells Fargo"? I have been here awhile now, and aside from the occasional outlier, there hasn't been too many of these comments.
Now, all of sudden a site devoted to company layoff's is drawing in people that love the company? Sorry, but I am not buying it. So, everyone say "Hi" to our HR employee's!!!!
It’s just natural that these dudes get all positive and happy when they finally get to execute the emps, er, cuts. They’re finally achieving something and their bonuses will confirm that hard work. We collectively just need to learn how to appreciate that kind of success.
I don’t know one person who is happy working here. I’m mid/senior level with connections higher up and also in the branches. Even my most loyal, bleed red and yellow stagecoach enthusiast is expressing concern and doubt. That’s the gentlest version of dissatisfaction I hear. Most, like me are truly disturbed and are in some phase of looking around for other jobs.
I must love WF, why else would I let it f#@! me in the a– for years on end?
Financial firms are known for toxicity; the only thing that matters is money, none of the schmucks on linkedin loving a company, really doesnt matter if you work here or not to the company or to anyone
I would say these people don't have any family or prefer the company to their family. I personally find that very disturbing.
They will learn one day the only thing that sticks by you is your family. Jobs come and go, should never love a job, only be appreciative of the paychecks.

Can I enjoy what I do, love my team, be dismayed at unscrupulous behavior, and angry for having to deal with the fallout? Yes. That being said, this company isn't the company I thought it was.
I'm the @OP here, and I actually work in a very good group. My management is awesome, and I like my job. That doesn't change the fact that the company has announced, and have started, layoff's. So, I can like my job and still be concerned for it. I can still be concerned about what may happen to my fellow team-members, er employees.
I also find the wave of positivity (and subsequent condescending statements), very strange.

Again, I’ll say you should know your audience if your truest pure goal is to change the narrative.
If you want to be positive and set an example that makes others want to follow your lead, than keep it ALL positive. There is something off-putting or preachy that comes across In some of the “positive posts” out here. Similar to a humble -brag. Once you become condescending, it invalidates/discounts everything you say that could have had value. IMO, it is the condescending nature that is putting people off.
Love my job, my team and my management line. Hoping WF fixes things and hope I have a job as much as anyone else.
You poor snowflake. Some of us actually do love being here. If you had our team or manager, you would understand.
Did it occur to you that maybe some people actually do like it here? Did it occur to you that some people don't want to be out there on the streets pounding the pavement looking for a job and competing with thousands of others? Did it occur to you that the grass isn't always greener else where but some of us are grateful to have a job for now?
@shc: that’s potentially a fair viewpoint, but a better forum for you and OP would be Glassdoor.
This is a forum for people who are concerned about being laid off by a company that has put us in this position due to years of mis-management while the execs have walked away with tens of millions of dollars.
You have to know your audience if you are wanting to change the narrative.
Seems suspicious to me too - the sudden positivity is very strange considering the current situation.
Maybe people are just sick of the constant negativity and want to share that not everything is awful across the board? I can’t imagine what a potential employee would think if they read some of the crazy stuff that gets put on here..

Highly suspect. I’m thinking newer to the firm, similar to the person from a few weeks ago who wanted to “teach us” how reviews and ratings are done at other financial institutions. Gives me flashbacks lol.
Anyway, I’m out here for information and insight. I don’t need the ra-ra cheerleaders, or the extreme negativity. Or the trolls. Or the political bs. Or the judgement. Just give me the facts and I can form my own opinions and come to my own conclusions.
