Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Job i am thankful for a paycheck, the sooner you realize this reality the better off you will be. Only people to be with you is your family when you change jobs or are no longer in this one. Hope you have a good family, you will need it.

WF has terrible morale. Meetings (even before the layoffs) feel like you are at a funeral. Old technology, uninspiring leadership, no support, etc.

OP I have a couple questions: Is that you who called someone a “goddam miserable fool” under @ckz on this thread? And are you the same person, attempting to stand up for your happiness at Wells Fargo, who called someone “Sweetie” on a previous thread. Some would take that as a patronizing comment, especially in the context in which you used it. And then the same you who, here and on other posts, tells everyone who expresses their frustrations about working at Wells to quit? Actually, you don’t have to answer. I don’t think there’s too many people out there who show negative character traits when trying to teach everyone else about being positive.

I've been here over 10 years and I've always had good managers.

But that's a separate issue from enjoying working here.

The attitude of the OP, the "if you don't like it leave" thing, is why Wells doesn't have the best and brighest.

If the OP loves working for a company that ruined thousands of lives, customers and employees, that says more about him than anyone posting here.

To the Op: First of all, this is a lay-off forum, not a “I love my job, you are all sad and pathetic blog.” I speak for myself but I think people come here because they are concerned for their job/careers. My entire department was laid off back in 2008, while management would say nothing to worry about. Everyone knew better and the writing was on the wall. This time around management has told us layoffs are coming but no one knows when or who (again we know better).

I think people complain because they have worked hard their entire career, only to be negatively impacted by incompetent leaders.

I assume that you are concerned for your job or you are just a troll. Team members who really “love their job” are not spending time on a lay-off forum.

But as long as it's good for you, I guess that's just a minor annoyance. You probably don't wear a mask either – its ALL about you. Herd immunity is metaphor for your last sentence....get out of the way (dead wood elderly), so the entitled can survive and thrive.

You should love your family and friends, and just be thankful to get a paycheck. Seems like some issue in someone that says they "love their job" or any for that matter. You should love your family.

It is disturbing someone would say this in any way.

@OP Amen! I came back to Wells earlier this year because I love my boss and team. The only thing that would make it one of the best places I've ever works is if they make telecommuting permanent again. #MTPA

I agree. I’ve always been in WIM, and not sure if i’ve lucked out with the management teams i’ve landed on, or what but i’ve really enjoyed my tenure with WF. I’ve been here 15 years now and really no complaints.

Wells was a great place until it acquired Wachovia. Wachovia screwed us up.

OP You had me right up until that last sentence. As I read your post, I thought: Now this person is going to be objective and this will be a valuable contribution.

I do keep an open mind towards everyone’s viewpoint, realizing what a large company we work for and we all have different experiences. I, too, have had fair bosses and I take pride in the work I do and am allowed to work fairly autonomously. It’s for the most part been a great career.

But that last sentence, at least partially, comes across as putting blame on the employees for the failures of management. I don’t know if that was your intent? Many of us originally came from well -managed honest companies, via acquisitions and mergers, that did NOT have the problems we’ve experienced at Wells. And sometimes it is difficult to look the other way given the crimes that have occurred at the bank. I, personally, have put my heart and soul in to trying to help the company turn itself around in the previous transformation attempts. But it does get more difficult when the hits keep coming.

I like working here, too. I haven't been here long. I worked for another large financial institution and it was awful. The manager lied on me to get rid of me. The coworkers were a boy's club. No one was friendly, helpful or engaging.
I came here and it was a breath of fresh air. People were polite and pleasant and helpful. Is it perfect? No, but it's better than where I was and I do hope to continue on. I hope to stop working from home and see everyone in the office again with all of this behind us.

I used to like working for Wells. It's possible that joy could return. The way things are trending, I don't see a light at the end of the tunnel.

I find it humorous the chainsaw attitude was mentioned since that exactly what Chuckles and the boys brought here and ruined that.
