We are near entering that precious time of year where WF tries to shake us down for donations to various organizations. Each year, I know fewer people who give any money. In the last 10 years, they started to calculate hours volunteered and made it look like direct financial contributions.
I haven't heard a thing about it this year and I can't imagine that most of us would give any money at all. Between covid, a questionable current economy and looming layoffs...It's just not the time to give away money.

A lot of really bitter people here. Here is what I know. I had a bad experience with WF in a toxic environment and after four years I resigned. I re-joined the bank at the beginning of this year, and have had nothing but good experiences. Moreover, I work in a part of the back set up to deal with customer issues. I am very proud of my work.
I the first couple of weeks, I did not have my computer equipment just yet, they paid me anyway yo sit at home until it bank has come a long way and has a long way to go. It just might be better off without all 5he nasty bitter people on this thread though!
@1wb We were all bright eyed and bushy tailed about our new job at Wells Fargo at one time too.
You’re like the new employee at Walmart who is excited about his job working the dressing rooms lol. The rest of the Walmart employees smile knowingly to to each other and say “ Congratulations! You got that job because you’re the only one who is qualified. You’re so lucky and smart. Better get started!”
Remember this conversation 1 to 5 years from now. You will have a better perspective then. Have fun!
@fsl Do you know what changed? Wondering why it was changed or who changed it or what’s the reasoning for it no longer being approved?
CSC is no longer. September will be a “month of action” model. Fundraisers aren’t permitted anymore. Wells Fargo collection drives are not approved. It will be a model that encourages people to volunteer within the community.
WF culture is extremely toxic. Too many unqualified people have been promoted over the years causing WF to fall a decade or more behind their competitors. I have joined them lately and I am appalled by how the people in this company act. Clean house, Charlie!
We were always told to log- in to the new improved Wells Fargo United Way website every year even if we didn’t plan to give $. They would say their goal was “100% participation”. 🙄
I always have donated $25.00 while an internal employee at Wells Fargo. That is all that I can afford, but really should be using that lousy $25.00 to pay off my rather large credit card debt. No Wells Fargo bonus money acquired this year. May skip the lousy $25.00 donation this year, since $0 Wells Fargo bonus this year, yeah I think I will skip that lousy low donation this year. Credit card debt acquired during that last recession. Working as a temporary bank contractor for many years, with no benefits, no PTO, at an hourly wage.
I wouldn’t give a penny to United Way. They have way too many highly paid executives, not to mention a toxic culture.
UGH. And please don't donate to the schools. A lot arent even opening...they definitely don't need more money.
Donate directly not through wells. I truly feel what you give comes back.
I think WF is donating something like $400M this year, they're one of the biggest. Kind of sad it always seems to go unnoticed by media. I'm getting close to retirement and have for the last 4-5 years donated some to cancer causes since my wife passed from cancer 6 years ago and the company does matching. I wouldn't think to much on it. When i was younger i never donated, if you feel like doing it, do it, otherwise don't, it won't make you a good or bad person one way or the other.
I have been and will be donating quite a bit this year. Many deserving causes and charities out there. Not one red cent will be channeled through Wells Fargo, however. I am not in a mood to help our millionaire executives get United Way photo ops while they lay off American workers.
They had to change the name of that too. It’s Month of Action now. Well, I do like the up to $2000 match for my charity.
I don't think Scharf gives a scheit either (Bill Daley might), which might be why we've heard nothing do far.
Leys call it what it is, a hollow annual ritual to bolster PR for WF.
We all can chose how to donate our time and money.
I, for one, will never let this scheithouse tell me I have to record it under the tattered, corrupt WF banner to bolster this house of greed and deception.
I don’t think they’re doing it. The whole company culture feels as though it’s changing. We aren’t team members, we are employees.
They put an emphasis on mental health and inclusion but they have the entire company on edge. They are fueling anxiety and people can’t focus. Then they support India over the US.
I got an email about it but just deleted it.
