Now that WF will no longer provide corporate cell phones, will you use your personal phone for business use? I am not comfortable with downloading corporate apps on my device and giving WF access to my personal info. Not to mention, WF can confiscate your personal phone for investigative purposes.
Don’t get me wrong. I think they’ve been too generous in providing corporate devices. However, many job roles need it. I’m a manager who is required to do things outside of normal business hours such as approving customer wires or managing the business continuity plan during emergencies (hurricanes, etc).
Since BYOD is optional, I will opt out. My manager, directs and everyone else will have to contact me via email or Skype during normal business hours. I won’t accept business texts or phone calls on my personal cell. Wonder if that will increase my chances of being displaced.
Silver lining...maybe I’ll get to have work-life balance and enjoy PTO instead of working while I’m on vacation.
