Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Too big to fail...

I don’t think the regulators would allow this even larger “too big to fail” financial institution to occur. But you have pointed out many positives that could come from an acquisition/merger.

No matter what punishment, restrictions, comeuppance, solutions are put forth: it is the employees and shareholders who ultimately pay the price while the top executives walk away with their pot of cash. They are laughing all the way to the bank, deceiving us all time and time again.

And there is no shame on their part- they are proud of themselves for being the fast-talking con artists that they are. It is happening right now, today, right under our noses. I don’t have a solution unfortunately.

I would be happy to see the company go down in a ball of flames, honestly, if there was a way for the average employee to not get burned.

I agree with @xtx, i doubt the Feds would allow a merger at such a large magnitude, it would be a monopoly. Many companies they made get rid of some of their businesses as saying this is what they are.

I am not sure why you want it to fail, do you want 280k people to lose their jobs?

If you’ve become too big to fail, you’ve become too big to allow for the greater good.

@vht+16FB93fP Shut your mouth!

I moved all my banking save for one CC account from WF to Schwab when the scandals broke. I couldn't be happier, I would hate for my accounts to be reacquired by WF.

No one will buy us when we have An asset cap. Now I could see situations like selling off non core businesses..

Taking over A top Brokerage Business would make sense for WF. I would think someone like Charles Schwabb would make sense.

I don't see a merger happening, at least not while WF is under the asset cap. Then, there's the total limit on deposits - that's something like 10%. I think the other big banks are approaching that level. Not sure who WF could merge with - or who would want to merge with the bank.
