FYI. In NY, the employer must give 90 days notice to the employee.
“If a layoff or plant closing is covered by WARN, employees who will lose their jobs are entitled to notice 60 days in advance. Under New York’s mini-WARN, employees are entitled to notice 90 days in advance”

dwf - I understand what you are saying, but what was the total number of layoffs this round (august)? I haven't seen any numbers. You have MN, CLT, PHX, Des Moines, as major hubs that would definitely have major layoffs. Smaller locations, such as Milwaukee, San Antonio, ND (or is it SD? I can't remember the CC place) may not see the WARN notice. One thing I'm not sure of is the time between layoffs. If Wells Fargo stays under the cap - 49 people per layoff per site - when does the new time period begin. Is it from the date of the previous notice, or quarterly, annually? Any body know?
I get the single site but do you realize how long that would take for them to achieve their headcount goals?

Keep in mind, it's based on 'single site', so WF could technically stagger the layoffs to stay under the headcount WARN requirement.

When I was laid off from a previous bank. I didn't get any warn or notice and the jerks let me work until 3:45pm before calling me in the h/r conference room and telling me today was my last day. Totally blindsided. I didn't get any kind of notice that it was coming and people that I knew who were laid off didn't get warned, either.
@OP - Which layoffs are covered by NY's WARN and mini-WARN? There should be a minimum count or percentage.
