Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

I regret not selling out at 60...

When C level executives agree to take ALL of their pay in the form of stock options, not RSU’s or Performance Units, they we can say they are actually acting in the shareholders best interest. The fact that they are not shows where their interest lies and it’s obvious that it’s not the shareholders.

As for the board, they are truly incompetent hiring this guy but they were desperate as he was the 15th guy that took their offer after the lucky 14 saw was a train wreck of a company was waiting in the run-away wagon.

Amazing that Stumpf was able to mask these issues for as long as he did. I regret not selling out at 60.

Why anyone would keep company shares in their portfolio beyond the minimum required for LTI. You're levered enough on Wells' performance making it your place of employment, don't double-down and bank your retirement on it as well.

@zqb+16EqXv1S. I think your mom did the right thing not to sell at $28. The stock went up to mid $60’s in 2018. If she sold at $28 back then, she would of lost more then $30 per share comparing to selling at $60’s.

@OP you sound like my mom back in 2008. I told her to sell out of it at $28 and wait to get back in. She didn't and took a beating. Months later she admitted she should have listened to me.

I was paying attention and my 401k lost less than 5%

Buy more and get out when it goes up to 60 again! Ha! I doubt that it will, but you can always hope.

As do the poor souls that got sacked with their company matches and profit sharing awards in the company stock. Just when you need the money the most!
