Dude moved from Florida to Seattle for a job. OCI laid him off 7 months later. Nice.

If I had an open Req, I would want to talk to this person. I love the attitude.

Oracle lays off every 6 months or less to cover reorgs and mis-management. Layoffs, 100% mean management failure of the business model

They should have a voluntary retirement program

They do. THEY voluntarily show YOU the door.

Is there anyone who still works for ORCL who isn't a sociopathic piece of human garbage?

Yea, those who are months/few years away from retirement. I know a few. In fact, they WISH they would get hit so they could collect on the package, collect unemployment and then retire. Makes no sense to find another job if you are under 2 years from retiring.

I was relocated to the Seattle area from Florida with nothing but high hopes to grow with the company and expand my cloud knowledge. This all came crashing down 7 months later.

No one hated Oracle when joining. Realization comes after joining Oracle.

If you hate your job at Oracle why don’t you quit? Quit your whining like a little B

Oh poor me ... and a chorus of losers singing a sad song like their care.
This is real life, if you are competent you will make it, if not, then you may need to get a job at your level.

Truly terrible what happened to him. He deserved better. Everyone does. This sort of malfeasance should be illegal, but since we don't effectively have a federal government anymore, it probably won't.

The only worse fate could have been working for ORCL for more than seven months. Goddamn sonafabitch doesn't know what he dodged. I did three years at OCI and I still wake up screaming. Can't get past it. Those aspy freaks, everywhere, and their serial k–ler managers with their dead, soulless eyes. OCI is like the Manson family but without the orgies. At least Charlie got some sweet Hollywood action. Not so at OCI. Nobody who had a choice would ever touch those land whales and unwashed dev nerds.

Just curious:

Is there anyone who still works for ORCL who isn't a sociopathic piece of human garbage? As in, if you weren't forced to be associated with your coworkers by reasons of your employment, would you ever speak to them again, or refrain from reporting them to the local police, FBI, UCIS, or CIA?

If so, why not?

He's young and he has the right attitude. Good for him, I'm sure he'll be fine. I wish him well. Its harder when you are over 50 and still have a lot of years until retirement and you have no idea what you are going to do now. Trying to stay positive but to see everything I built be destroyed without a care rips me apart. We were doing so great. I'm really hurt and do not understand. I'm struggling.

Smart!

The guy who got global coverage on an app, or the people taking pot shots, as they live their lives vicariously through someone else?

If he was smart, he got Oracle to pay for the move, and all expenses. Smart!
There are many opportunities in the NW.

Bean counters don’t care about the circumstances, they just look at the $$$ savings, management have to make hard decisions if they are told to lose n employees and none are really expendable. Most are spineless too so do what they are told and don’t speak up in case their card gets marked

This guy will be OK. He has the right attitude, and decent cloud support and engineering people are in demand. Oracles loss will be Amazon’s gain.

Nope, that's not whining and he doesn't really sound like a loser. I do find it extraordinary to move someone across the country and then can them within a matter of months. Good grief!

I’m sorry, but this guy sounds like a naive, whiny loser.
