So, tomorrow is the big day, right? What is everyone hearing? Do you have any team calls set up? Please share conference line info...

“ retitles in IT came two weeks ago.”

Not for everyone. There was a batch that changed this Monday.

@tgo+16CRP7sv. I know some1 who was laid off in February. Received their 2 month notice plus severance package of 6 month. And they are still in Teamwork’s. So, you disappear from Teamwork’s after your severance period runs out. Pretty sure if that.

Um @sbg, that’s not the point

At a company with 275,000 employees, most people will likely know or know of maybe 2,000 people in their immediate orbit. That’s 272000 people they don’t know who could have been notified.

People posting act like because they haven’t heard anything that nothing has happened, more likely is that they simply don’t know anyone who has found out their job is gone. And, because it’s very early in CA, anyone affected out there would not even know yet. That’s the point.

That's mostly true but you'll dissappear from Teamworks after 60 days, not when your severance pay ends.

You can’t go by Teamwork’s to know the exact count of employees. Even if some1 got laid off, the would get 60 days notice and would still be counted as an employee officially. Also, most of the time after the 60 days notice I’d over, the severance kicks in and the employee will be on Wells payroll and be counted as an employee until the severance is complete. So, looking on Teamwork’s to know the exact number of employees is not the best way to know for sure.

There are 275000 people, and it’s not even 8 am on the west coast.

I doubt the priority of anyone who has been laid off or is doing the lay off is to broadcast it around work, or on this board. If you haven’t heard anything or been laid off yourself then be glad and do yourself a favor and prepare as if you could be laid off tomorrow or next month.

Someone on one of these threads said last week that managers would be notified today and would schedule meetings for Thursday or Friday with folks who would be affected. From what I've seen over the years, that sounds way more credible.

Re-titles came yesterday in Technology. Should be some layoffs announced today.

To the poster who spun a tale of lockouts and HR - I don’t even think you work here. First of all, you wouldn’t be locked out the same day, and your manager would let you know, not HR. HR is not part of the actual displacement - only the manager, or the manager’s manager (if the direct manager is being laid off too).

A colleague just texted me and said he was working and was suddenly kicked off the network and locked out. After that he got a call from his manager telling him to expect a call from hr.

If you can't take anticipation and stress now, just wait it only gets worse. It's not like 8/25 comes and you're shocked like cattle into a slaughterhouse where they do you in. They will lay off little by little. They know people work harder when they have fear in their hearts. By a thousand cuts, they will reduce headcount, pile on work, and torture you under the weight of the world till you break. By the end your pain will be so great you'll mail care packages to Raj, Rakesh, and Shneha your replacements in India and leave on your own.
