I'm a minority over 50 at UOP and it didn't matter. They hired a 30 something with zero experience 6 weeks to take my job and let me go last week.
I'm a minority that was laid off in Corporate supporting PMT. I dont think being a minority matters in terms of them keeping you. They are looking to just cut bodies.
Told not to mention H-1B or L-1 Third Country Nationals are preferred for all new hire and replacement positions. In addition minority applicants are to be given extra special preference in all hiring decisions, regardless of their qualifications or lack of qualifications or ability to do the job.

Agree FP is very poorly managed and currently has zero leadership. How do they expect to train the young and inexperienced? All the guy does it talk about getting into the employees and customers heads and harnessing people. Zero direction, integrity or leadership.
FP has had MANY a legacy employees who do one thing and costs a ton to maintain. Cleaning house after many years. Out with the old and in with...the young and inexperienced
UOP Corp RIFS past 2 weeks. 10% Census reduction done by salary. They wont have to worry about cleaning Des Plaines, they've already cleaned it out
How many at the very poorly managed FP were RIF’s? What functions and locations?
It's almost like someone at Aero was telling you exactly what was going to happen with PMT on this site a couple weeks ago.
AM advanced materials had RIFs this week. 10 percent of people were part of census reduction .
