Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Funny

I applied and interviewed for a position outside of Wells. The hiring manager during the zoom said oh you are at wells. No offense last thing I want is to hire a wells fargo leader. My response well last thing I want is to be a wells fargo leader so strike that from my resume he laughed and went to next candidate. The struggle will be real. good luck to all of us

If this is a true story and not spam, I’d be so happy to have a heads up of what kind of person I was really about to work for. A big “No thank you” to any potential employer who would make such an assumption about someone. Sounds like God helped you dodge a bullet on that one.

Clearly a fake story. The reality is if you’re a Wells Fargo “leader” you’ll never get an interview. They’ll just auto decline you’re application. Here’s a dose of reality for those of you in denial. these conversations ARE happening.

Ask Right Management what's going on. You can wallow in denial, but outplacement companies know the reality for those who've been displaced. And it's understandable that companies can't trust that the candidate wasn't part of toxic WF culture and don't want to risk it spreading to their organization.

Also, many hiring mgrs havent read the resume beforehand. HR/ER Depts. and/or recruiters (incl. automated systems) often do the vetting. Hiring mgrs are so busy, they are often reading resume for the first time during actual interview. Not ideal, but it goes on all the time – even at WF.

Unprofessional for hiring mgr to make that comment (if OP is being truthful) – yes. But there are many cruel and unprofessional hiring mgrs out there, some with an axe to grind against WF.

I've seen and heard a lot worse from hiring mgrs and recruiters. At least they aren't committing fraud against customers and employees who trusted them.

Stop doubting the pain many are experiencing in the job market.

Be grateful you haven't (yet).

Highly doubt there is one iota of truth to the post. No hiring manager worth their salt would ever make such a statement. The fact that OP would try to sell this is laughable.

BS. So they didn't read the resume before the interview? C'mon, man.

This is obviously fake. Besides that's very unprofessional, why would you even work there if that were true.

I got a similar response last week. Outplacement firms warned me this is a reality. Many they work with ate experiencing the same thing. Not BS.

Bitterness will get you nowhere in life. I assure you that many posters on this Board had nothing to do with the alleged fraud, but yet maintain some civility. This is so absurd.

What is the point of replies like this?

WF being a resume stain isn’t related to the expense ratio. If anything, the expense ratio is a result of management decisions to throw warm bodies at a problem. The stain comes from the fraud committed against customers, and which continues today.

If you think posters are whining, your engraved invitation to take a hike is already in your mailbox.

What’s the point of posts like this ? The last thing I would want to do is get hired by the recruiter that is unprofessional. I feel like this blog is becoming a place for whiners and complainers.

Wells Fargo is operating at an employee expense ratio higher than its competitors. This has been happening for ever. If you didn’t know that then I am sorry to say, you are living under a rock. Stop blaming management because they are actually taking steps to fix the mess.
