Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Nobody is safe here

For those who keep asking - and I see this question repeated so many times - no, you are not safe here. Nobody is safe at Wells Fargo. In the past year, I've seen people with decades with the company be laid off, and I've seen people with as little as a year shown the door. I've seen some of our best and some of our worst walked out. People who were certain they were irreplaceable - gone.

So unless you are part of the C suite, you are not safe.

Well said. The firm has a dollar amount of salaries they are looking to cut. And if it’s anything like the lay-off round from last year, HR controlled it and managers did not have much if any say in who stayed and who was let go. New CEO in place now, so it’s difficult to know what to expect. But many new leaders ultimately want their own people, and not those who might be hanging on to the “old” business philosophies of the previous leader. Good or bad.
