Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

diversity what they say vs what they mean

Leave it to corporate america to get greedy and push an idea so far people riot in the streets.

Corporate america - wfc included - is hell bent to move as many back office jobs to cheap indian labor centers as fast as they can.

This vaporizes economic value all the way down the labor pool.

Those with the least skills are most impacted, and then, well riots.

When wfc runs around and says diversity, they mean their foreign labor pool, not american workers.

The next conference call you have try an experiment - ask them if diversity means hiring more foreign nationals or hiring more americans. Watch them squirm.

Then when they give their b—s— answer, if they even take the question, ask them why year over year they are doubling the 90% cheaper wage indian workforce.

They have declared war on all of us - its not just white or black. Its anyone who is not an executive.

Everyone else is disposable.

No corporation cares about its american labor pool.

This is pure class warfare.

The OP is really an anti-unregulated capitalism rant that would be better delivered to Wells customers.

If customers tell Wells "we want our neighbors hired first or we're leaving" that would make an impact.

The bank doesn't care about what employees think.

For the record, I am not against offshore workers, I have had great experiences with them taking over late night shifts so my US based teams can get some sleep and have a life.

And I'm a huge fan of capitalism as long as it servers everyone and not just a few Wall Street crooks.

But the system has been gamed for too long and it's hurting everyone, not just American workers.

Charlie plans on turning Wells into Bank of Hyperbad/Mumbai. The bank's operational performance will pay for it dearly.

Pro Tip: Seems Charlie knows that forcing managers to give a terribad rating to a flat percentage of the American workforce gets around some regulation or another. If you see that, it's when the flood of layoffs/offshoring will happen.

Also watch for upper management/directors having substantial ownership in the companies your jobs are outsourced to.

I don’t necessarily disagree with @fmp, but I think that last sentence puts our entire C-Suite and Board of Directors on notice.

Fair to criticize offshoring, but there are a lot of entitled people of all races who want to use other people’s race as an excuse for their own shortcomings as an employee. If you don’t know how to use a computer, I don’t care if you’re a Managing Director for a Trading Desk, your job is in jeopardy.

Any company doing buisiness in America that accepts federal money in the form of credits, tax breaks, etc, should not be permitted to offshore labor.
