Seeking Alpha: AT&T (T +1.2%) is turning on its 5G network in 28 new markets, including Miami, Dallas, Austin, and Salt Lake City.

It's also started dynamic spectrum sharing in parts of some of its markets.

The new launch brings access to 5G to parts of 355 U.S. markets for AT&T.

The DSS technology allows carriers to share the same channel between 4G and 5G users simultaneously, based on demand, which should mean faster and more efficient deployment and "an important stepping stone on our path to nationwide 5G," says AT&T's Igal Elbaz.

You can not compare the two companies. AT&T begins the federal government is the number one company that holdS the most debt. They bought many companies just as they entered their peak and payed highest prices. Then they tanked. DirectTV for one. AT&T tried to become this huge multi media company that backfired on them instead of just staying in its lane.

The att 5g is allowing this to happen. Don't wish for Verizon to catch-up in the 5g space. We might end up in the same boat.

As an AT&T employee, I can tell you that the company has been doing mass layoffs seemingly twice a year since 2013. The company is run by a group of people that are positioned about two rungs above their level of competence, and they are playing a shell game with accounting & layoffs to eke out a few more quarters/years of big bonuses for themselves.

Hope for the sake of you folks that your leadership is composed of actual leaders.
