Hi, I am a fresh graduate who joined through the campus recruiting program recently.
Just curious how easy/hard to get fired/laid off in Wells Fargo? I heard some rumors saying every year there are a lot of layoffs which freak me out.
Please help so that I can get prepared.

Just be honest you will get laid off.
Almost impossible to get fired for cause, but layoffs are very common. My advice to you would be to take advantage of any and all opportunities for training & development so that you will have things to add to your resume. Always keep the resume up to date, continue networking, and keep an ear to the ground for opportunities with other firms.

then go read up on how much india makes vs usa (hint over 90% cheaper)
Then realize you are f—ed if you are a wage earner.
Start own offshore company or go work for government.
Everyone else is on the chopping block, especially now.
I don’t say this judgmentally, but I think I get why there has been an uptick of racist sentiment on this forum.
On one hand, we have our senior leadership parroting nice talking points they think will sound good given the current strife - caused both by COVID-19 as well as by the protests nationally. On the other hand, they’re reneging on their promise not to lay off during the pandemic.
If you’re a straight, white male - when you see this coupled with offshoring - it is probably natural to have racial resentment. However, I exhort you to see that the real problem is not with your coworker - it is with our dysfunctional leadership.
There have been some unkind and exaggerated emotional posts. What I can say is it is VERY hard to nearly impossible to get fired. The poster who referenced write up, talks, etc is dead on. Ther person who spoke of “non-white” being safe is ridiculous. Getting fired is difficult and if you achieve it, you’ve earned it. Getting laid off is vastly different and many factors are to be considered. Right now it’s a tough call but if you are in upper to middle management and/or a non-revenue generating department, it can be more readily laid off.
This company follows mostly the same process as other big companies, unless you break the law or major league violate company policy (abuse corporate card for example), it takes a while to fire someone. Verbal warning, written warning, final written warning, lots of paperwork. In low level jobs, it’s very easy to break schedule policies and such.
Layoffs can happen to anyone, anytime. No use worrying about it. Keep your skills upgraded, advance your education and have a nice safety net of cash.
Run Forrest, run. All workers here are are heads, headcount, not people or human beings.
this company may be worse shape than others, but at EOD who cares. Job market is hot with some companies doing record sales they have never reached in the past.
Exactly. Very easy to get laid off at WF (and other companies).
Start looking for your next job in a new company immediately. This is true for any company - especially if you're in the US and during this pandemic. Look for yourself first. This job, like any job, isnt going to last.
