This may be a bit long.
I'm part of the dwindling legacy DIRECTV folks, now suffering under the incompetence and gross negligence of AT&T senior management. It's disgusting.
During my time at DTV I cannot recall one single massive layoff. Yes, there were reductions, but they were small and surgical. Never something that was company-wide. And definitely never to cover for the ridiculous bumbling of the CEO. Since the merger mass layoffs are a regular thing – like the seasons. Every quarter there are layoffs. It's the only thing AT&T seems to know how to do.
After the merger Stankhole was put in charge of DTV and almost immediately morale plummeted. He was arrogant, opinionated, and completely unfit for his position. He started destroying the company right away, culminating in picking Devin Merrill to lead the transformation of DIRECTV with the release of DTV Now. Remind me how that turned out? Yet instead of being made to account for that abysmal failure, Merrill was promoted and now leads the retention group. Oh, but a bunch of qualified people below were cut loose.
Quarter after quarter AT&T lays off workers to cover for management mistakes. And now we're on the brink of a massive, company-wide m—acre because Stankhole and Randy and the rest of the tards in charge are a cancer k–ling this company. My department (somewhere in the Cleveland org) probably won't be slammed hard as we're already at a very lean number, but we'll still lose people. I may be one let go and I may not be. But this was the last straw.
I am done. Whether I am laid off or not, I am done. I'm sending out resumes, brushing off connections, and letting people know I am available. I would never have considered this during my DIRECTV days. That was a lifetime job. But even if Stankhole himself came to me and said I was guaranteed to work out all my days here I'm gone. Not only do I have no respect or confidence in management, I am embarrassed to tell people where I work, because I always get the same sour response. The AT&T brand is toxic. People HATE this company. The incompetence, pi$$-poor service, horrible quality, shady business dealings, outright fraud, greed, over-priced fees, shoddy customer service, inferior products, and constant flops have finally reached maximum for me.
DTV Now, AT&T TV, HBO Max – all complete failures. And to think that the id–ts in charge had both U-verse and DIRECTV as their base.
Morale among my colleagues can't get lower. Management lies to our face. Those in charge aren't accountable for their screwups, but the rank-and-file are constantly sacrificed. Meanwhile Stankhole, McElturd, and the rest of the suits get paid their millions, and Randy gets a $250K per month pension for life.
It's nice to think that karma will catch up to them, but I know it won't. They will all continue to live a very wonderful life, filled with cash and the finest luxury. They will continue to have lickspittles tell them how smart they are. They will spend the rest of their lives with more money and security than they need.
In closing, phauque Randy. Phauque Stankhole. Phauque Arroyo, McElf, Chow, and every other scumbag at the top. And finally phauque AT&T.
I'm gone, no matter what.
AT&T isn't a cesspool. Cesspools serve a purpose and are cleaner than this place.
