Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Global Business Impacts?

Anyone have insight as to the impact to the Global Business Sales Centers, under Chow & Jules, heard rumors that the AVP & Director level positions will be consolidated and that the account/sales teams, AVPs, SALs, CSEs and AMs under Hazard, Reardin, Lensing, Bosa will be impacted. and that the newly formed wireless teams will also be eliminating some headcount. SLED & LED will see consolidation and low performers will be managed out or will receive severance, only group I heard might be safe is firstnet, the IOT group which I thought was part of our future growth strategy is being impacted and some are having to justify their jobs, position -think Office Space, also heard that the network engineers are going to see more layoffs, Those that are left will be thankful and gladly take on the tasks of doing even more with less and will have tighter performance metrics to adhere to-adding to the additional stress, work life balance is already laughable and will continue to erode to the point of impacting the health of those lucky enough to remain. Welcome to the sh%* show

Agree with OP those “”lucky few” left after the blood letting are screwed as well just a slower death, my manager has acted clueless as to this reorganization saying he hasn’t heard anything which is bad either he’s so out of the loop that our team is doomed or he’s fully aware and positioning himself at our expense and our team is doomed.

"Those that are left will be thankful and gladly take on the tasks of doing even more with less " .... not a CHANCE. They made this bed, they are gonna have to deal with the fact that I am going to sleep 7 hours a night in mine and also make my quality of life a priority.

Global is going to be one of the first to go.

IoT org is completely blown up and absorbed to the death star.

There are too many reps trying to sell to accounts. The problem is the main CSE’s that are the account owners don’t know how to do anything. They need their hands held because their managers are also worthless and just look at excel spreadsheets all day. This company is only surviving is because of all those old timers out there that are dumb customers who think it’s a good idea to buy from these r—ds.

jules flatly stated that there would be a surplus - there are "too many people on accounts" and said that there would be a strategic focus on lines of business impacted negatively long-term by COVID. mobility, fiber, IOT supposedly least impacted.

rumor is that it's 14 days & then off payroll. next opportunity for that to happen is july 1.

this is the heaviest call i've been on since the dot-com bust.
