I’m a prem tech in California. The DTV guys got words today that AT&T was creating a separate organization for the DTV guys that haven’t been cross trained. The thought being that AT&T is going to sell off the company or squash it completely. There will be a huge round of layoffs predominantly with the DTV guys on 8/21/20. AT&T techs will also stop doing DTV installs around the 1st of July.
This was relayed to me via the Union and the second line manager of AT&T
F@ck AT&T they do employees dirty and wait till last minute. They preach ethics but they don’t follow it, glad I was laid off in February. Found something better and I don’t have keep thinking when’s my cut day.

I work at DTV in engineering... haven't heard anything.
3rd line in WI went to DTV, now is back in ATO. He sed there prepping it for sale, that’s why he got out.
Wire techs seems safe for the time being as far as I was told.
What about places where it's no Dtv techs and the company just hired a massive full of Wire techs?
