Don’t wait around and hope you don’t get surplussed. This company is always looking for a way to cut jobs. My recommendation is to update your resume and LinkedIn. Make sure you have a nice professional suit to wear to interviews and get prepared. Don’t wait around. Start applying for a new job now.

LOL!
Highest unemployment rate since the Great Depression, with COVID back to exponential growth, and you advise preemptively jumping from a job only a few percent will be laid off from?
No, thank you. There won’t be jobs out there for a while, except those they can’t otherwise fill, requiring repeated exposure.
Better to take the severance and unemployment and sell t-shirts saying F AT&T on the side, until this train wreck is over.
Been through too much company bs to get where I am. Only way I will go is if they pay me to leave
This was good advice - about 30 years ago. Different world today. No one cares about your resume, your "experience", or your suit (lol). No one cares about YOU. It's time to save yourself - and that doesn't mean looking for another corporate teet to jump to. Ain't going to happen. New world today. Time to develop some ingenuity and devise ways to extract money from this pig of a country. The smart will thrive.
Why are you guys focused in the suit ? This good person is giving sound advice you guys are worried about the suit.... smh

“Don’t wait around and hope you don’t get surplussed. ” .... lolol .... at this point I hope I DO get surplused .... get off this crazy train. Just plain laughable they seem to think losing even more people is going to improve anything. I’m in ATO, No way I’m working even more hours because they laid people off. Already work 10 hours a day and at least 4-5 every Sat/Sun for over 2 years now.
true old timer, suit? LOL
Probably his only EMPLOYER
My advice is don't go anywhere and make them cut that check when/if you get the boot.
"Suit to wear to an interview? It's all about phone and skype video interviews these days. On site interviews are a thing of the past."
You just need shirt, jacket and tie, you can sit there in your underwear , no pants or socks or shoes needed.
