Pfp jumper is part of splitter. Not a spliced item. No matter what the count take a minute to route it properly. It’s a reflection of your work ethic. Non existent for most. There are a few quality prem techs that would make the transition. Most could not.

That’s why there wasn’t much resistance to bringing them in. Minimum of one year maximum of three years. It was supposed to handle the initial deployment of uverse. Somehow that transitioned to full time permanent positions. Separate contract. There is very little the job title has contributed to the company. As the saying goes “you don’t know what you don’t know.” Drops are improperly placed, houses roped, no branded jacks and incredibly sloppy x-boxes and pfp’s. It has basically turned the once proud company into a “cable company” Keep in mind the bell system had very professional installers that did impeccable work for the better part of a century before the arrival of the prem tech. That’s just fact.
Hate will not solve anything. Just different jobs for different pay. Company is moving in another direction. Glad I got my time in. No winners.
If ATT can kick the can another decade, the WT type is the future. Lower pay, longer hours, independent contractors with no outside certification or validation.
The corporation wants core and WT gone, too much overhead and responsibility.
But it's amusing reading with everyone vying to be the last tech standing.
Its just so nice to be core and get surplussed and there is a wire tech in your yard with 4 years of service and you have to move cuz you pretty much can't bump them, when this starts happening to union guys I guess thats when the madness will stop, seniority means nothing because the wire tech with less seniority should have to move period and not a core guy with more seniority. We do the same exact job they just do 25% less.
Good & bad on both sides enough of the harsh comments....I’m core I see lazy on both sides. I work with Prem/wire techs every day we respect each other fine!
It doesn't make economic sense to keep core guys but layoff thousands of wire techs use your common sense. When I can hire almost 2 wire techs with one core pay.
Att should sell landline, just like Verizon did.
These core techs that keep calling us prem techs asking what rg do I put in, same core techs who can't seem to figure out what profile to use on what loop, same core techs who still refuse to hang a drop. Same sh– from the same core techs who can't do a single pair hsia install in less then 4 hrs, why cause you f'n lazy. I hope you enjoy working down in title and dealing with all the wifi assessments, abj tests, no gcas jobs. You'll be missing us when they rip you for not getting sh– done.
