I’ve known many folks to leave this company for various reasons: lay-off, retirement, just plain quit... Have NEVER known any of them that were not better off and wish they were still here. So, if you get that notice, don’t sweat it. Enjoy the adventure.

There's one big difference, most of the people that have left from previous layoffs didn't do so during the highest unemployment rates since the great depression. It's really scary to think when you leave there's no place to go.
I am one who has been grateful, I've worked a long time, been paid well, enjoyed the work.... And I'm sure the positive message is true under normal circumstances. We are not in normal circumstances by a long shot.

I think most people on here really care about the company or did at one time. If you did not care about something so deeply you would not spend the time on here expressing your feelings of disappointment or concern about the possibility of impending layoffs.
Been with the company for a long time and I have no complaints. I started in the early 2000s in an entry level position and worked my way up. It wasn’t always easy, but I’ve made it so far and AT&T pays me well, I’m also able to work remotely which is amazing since I am a mother. Obviously if someone leaves a company it wasn’t a good fit...otherwise they wouldn’t be leaving.
Erm not sure off quoting, I get well paid and don't have to do much, plus guaranteed rises every.
Think I may struggle to find that kind of job with my skills, so its stick and keep collecting for me I think.
Former employee here. So much happier after I left. Landed a great job with a promotion and a 20% raise from my AT&T salary, plus my new boss has already given me two off-cycle bonuses for performance in the past year. That never happened at AT&T. My stress level has gone down a ton, I’ve lost weight, and I don’t have to worry about surpluses every quarter anymore.
Ditched my AT&T Wireless service right after I left. I had a finite-data plan on AT&T, but my new VZW plan is unlimited data and has much better coverage and I’m only paying $10/month more than I was with my “great” AT&T employee discount.
So yeah, lots of joy beyond the AT&T cage. T is like an old d–gged-up dinosaur — big, lumbering, confused and doing a lot of damage as it crashes through the forest before finally collapsing.
Yep never met anyone regretted leaving. I know I don’t and I am so much better off as far as learning cutting edge technology it isn’t even funny.
I hear cso is a safe space so move there if you can.

Very good point OP. Every single former employee I run into is glad to be gone from this place. Not a single one of them has a good thing to say about AT&T. Not one.
Joy is seeing everyone in network sticking it to the men, do as little as possible, lots of OT cash in the bank, awww... Payback baby!@ Lmao
