Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Contractors in our group let go

So it's begun, various contracting firms associated with our group have begun shedding staff. Of course their duties fall on us..none of their work has been canceled it's just be "transitioned" to us.

I love all the corporate weasel words for firing someone...

CIDO has a slew of Amdocs people. So far I haven’t heard of any layoffs.

It's ok! The contractors are offshore.

When contractors in your team are being let go, then that is not a good sign. They're cheaper, which means you're next.

Complaining about contractor getting let go and their work being shifted to at&t employees.....isn't that what the union and us as a work force has been wanting??? Some of you have too much empty space between the ears

Contractors being let go, because your team is being let-go. You are a commodity at ATT. They just sold the commodity down the river

You won’t be around long enough to do the contractors’ work. Thx for coming out! Good luck finding another job, since you have no skills, since you have been retiring in place for the last 20 yrs

Assuming this is accurate - yet another example of an ATT employee living in a box. He / she posts information seemingly relevant to the upcoming bloodbath but gives no details. So many shortsighted folks in this company, like so many that I have worked with over the years trying to resolve issues in IT.
