I got news for you, skippy ... pretty much every group actually does do "important" stuff. NIC isn't any more or less vital than other groups.
And yes, nobody cares. At least nobody L4 or higher. The higher up the T ladder of slime you climb, the less concern for those who actually do the work there is.
