What is the new buzz phrase we are at every meeting regarding inquiry about layoffs "the majority will not be impacted". This is very subjective. If 40% is impacted that is not the majority but sure is a heck of a lot of people.
@fhr+15j67TwB- which org did you hear these rumors for ?
I was hearing June 15 but now it seems like we won't know until mid July based on latest rumors. This seems odd since it's the first month of the 3rd quarter, but maybe this just means there will be different dates for different organizations.
Or it could be for other reasons....
The only reason I can guess they moved it to 3rd quarter (July) is so they can use Covid Virus as the 2nd quarter excuse then use the 3rd quarter layoffs to prop up 3rd quarter results.
Per Hopkins open mic yesterday - she has not been made aware of any lists/information, so she expects her org is not going to be part of the June 15 surplus. (Likely the next one...) Unless of course she is actually ON the list and they haven’t told her....
Expect some to start hearing as early as June 8, but all of the announcements will be done by the 15th.
Remember, the C-suite arseholes want everyone off the books by July 1.
some management that already know they are leaving have off-book date of July 31 which means likely wave of cuts announced July 17
"Make sure you browse the catalog to get your service gift if you’re eligible. You are entitled to that! "
the gifts that are junk - my gift lasted about six months lol - typical att product.
AtO?
I am in ATO and have been told by a trustworthy source the specific people have been identified but didn’t know when the cuts would be made. My guess is mid month so they are off payroll for the 3Q
Make sure you browse the catalog to get your service gift if you’re eligible. You are entitled to that! Also print out your latest Fidelity statement and scenarios!!
Since it's not an MVO, there are some steps that usually need to happen. First is to select the folks getting the ax; depending on the size of the cut then the longer this will take. Cutting 3-5% is easy but cutting 10-15% means redesigning organizations which takes time.
Then, HR and Legal have to review to be sure we are not getting to many old guys (Not). As all that been done for a June 15th Announcement? I don't think so. So, I am going for after the July 4th Weekend...
Given the 14 day window I would think mid June! I think AT&T wants to do this in one big swoop and blame it on the pandemic and the economy!! The company wants individuals off the payroll as soon as possible. The reduction of headcount will be tied into Randall and Stankey’s goals in determining their bonus!
Most of the layoffs will occur with older employees that have a higher payroll and benefit costs!!
June 15th
I bet 6/16 and last day 6/30
But don’t worry, most aren’t affected , but all employees will be affected.
The majority of reductions are behind us....
ATT will not exist in 10 years, maybe 5
Every Monday as they go from one level to the lower level and till they are done with all the levels. All the best to everyone!!
