What org is having an all hands meeting Monday?
In my CDO group, “All Hands” generally meant that that entire org was in fact NOT getting hit. When we WERE affected, certain people received a meeting for top of the hour, and others at bottom of the hour. Top of the hour people were surplused, bottom of the hour were safe.
any managers in Birmingham/Hoover surplused?
@1jca+15ihGo7K I am pritty sure that email went out to everyone last Monday from Jeff McElfresh not a big secret.
The entire IoT organization is going to be gone. They are moving some employees to the segments. AT&T is a joke with these re-orgs.
Doubt it’s layoffs. But I would gamble you will be notified by your boss on 6/16 and your last day will be 6/30
All Hands Calls are in fact generally Layoff Calls where they tell you you will be notified if impacted or not...if you are called to the 2ndcall....blah, blah, blah.....emails generally in fact do say "All Hands" at least that was the title for the last round with IBM outsourcing....
Thanks goodness for Workspace 2020!! I get to "collaboratively" peek over the shoulder of a senior exec gal in the know. She left up on her screen a letter from McEl-Stale (McElfresh) outlining how they are going to butcher employees once again.
Key phrases:
"..... we will be reducing our workforce in the coming weeks and months"
"The economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic is a factor"
"These reductions will be targeted, but sizeable"
"...executives, managers and bargained-for employees"
"...significantly reducing non-payroll workers"
"For management surpluses we will institute a new 14 day exit window because there will be a limited number of alternative internal roles"
"We will communicate which jobs will be eliminated in the coming weeks"
Signed off with "Keep it simple, Serve and delight and Save to grow"
Honestly the email just read like a lot of changes not layoffs
""All Hands" is not usually lay-off notices. Specific notices are usually given to individuals."
In some orgs that goes out to all the employees of the impacted group where some VP reads a legal statement. Typical one-way audio bridge, no Q&A. You get told if you are impacted you will get an email by such and such time, If you get no email at that time then you are safe until the next round.
Sorry, I got Xavier Williams’s title wrong below. Currently AT&T Business, President - Government solutions and National Business. With the re-org announced 6/1, it looks like his new title will be AT&T Business, President - Public Sector and FirstNet.
certainly butter will not spread evenly
The All-Hands email I received was from Xavier Williams - AT&T Business, Wholesale and Public Sector Solutions; he reports to Anne Chow. I also heard thru the grapevine that only 200 people will be let go in Xavier’s entire org.
Just more bs and tell ya how great of work everyone is doing all the while making plans to dump you later. Take a shot of whiskey every time you here transform. Same stuff they have been saying for the last 15 years - gees just shxx up and transform already. They like to hear themselves talk.
Either they're going to announce Ultra-Ultimate-Max-Turbo HBOMax or they're going to lay off a sh1t-ton of workers. Either way I really don't care any more.
Can you post the announcement email?
They will announce HYper -HBOmax Transformer release, version 22.
The whole world is waiting...
could this be the Game Changer RANDY told us about?
"All Hands" is not usually lay-off notices. Specific notices are usually given to individuals.
Ya'll have it so lucky. 60 days notice, with option to go early. I remember days at sprint, where you were taken to a conference room informed of the layoff, while security was packing your desk and removing your computer. You were then escorted to the door, not even a thank you after collecting your personal effects.
Fake news
Which org? I don’t have an all hands invite
Meeting on Monday will be to announce the new structure. AVP’s or leaders that will be in place. 6-11 will be notices and retirement announcements, that way they can meet the 7-1 deadline of the new Org launch.
Yeah this is vagiue. Which org is the all hands meeting for?
Here's the strategy, look at the person to your left, then right. One of those people will be gone in 14 days.
Surplus announcements come in the late afternoon or evening for a meeting the next day and it usually says do not forward.
Getting everyone ready for HBO MAX 2: The most Maximus. This time it’s personal!
Government Solutions & National Business says for discussing strategy on recent organizational changes
Layoffs!!
When I was at att all hands call meant one thing... layoff announcement
LAYOFFS,collaboration and transformation.
What org? Under which AVP? The company is huge. We didn’t all get that announcement.
