Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

So this is how he plans to make it work

The only way HBO MAX can make it is by cheating - and Stankey knows it.

"Zero-rating has been broadly criticized for years by net neutrality advocates, as giving any service preferential treatment tilts the competitive scales. For example, AT&T customers watching a third-party video streaming service from Netflix, Disney, Comcast or Apple, among many other contenders, will have that usage count against their data caps, encouraging them to instead watch the service that AT&T owns."

I do not see how this is cheating, and think it would be ignorant to think that if you purchase at&t bandwidth and another at&t product you should be charged three times. Once for the data path you purchased, once for the content and a third time to view the content. If the company did that you all would be calling them out as thieves saying the execs are ripping people off. Let's be 100% honest for a moment. I come out here to see if there is any real information about layoffs many others come out here to b–ch about anything thay can think of. If you are an employee and hate senior management so much and think this company is unethical then please leave. I talk to my friends and I mention my benefits cost, coverage, vacation etc and they all say the same thing, damn I wish my company gave us that. The biggest challenges this company faces are employees who piss and moan over everything and dont try to improve things. Those who do that are a drain on others around them so one of you leaves we get a productivity boost of .25 because you are no longer s—ing down someone who cares by 25%. Sorry to be harse but a lot of the stuff out here is nothing more than whinning BS and not matter what company these people work for their complaining will be the same...

In what way is it cheating?

I was just at the supermarket. Was it cheating that they had a sale, conditioned on spending x amount in the store, on store brand stuff but not on brand name stuff that they also sell? After all they're a store, not a food production company.

And as an employee why would you whine about this? You get a cheap cell plan and free HBO, now free HBO Max.

I'd call our leadership butchers and thieves if I didn't think it was unfair to butchers and thieves to do so. But this is one thing they haven't gotten wrong. Why in the world would you NOT bundle your services and offer discounts?

This will lead to an anti-trust lawsuit and a breakup of AT&T and Randall's beloved media empire.

hey @pzs+15iRBpsi,
Are you are aware that if HBO Max continues to tank thousands more layoffs will be in effect. Not just at AT&T but any company who works alongside to make this streaming service turn a profit. Basic economics.

All they are doing is making it much easier for T-Mobile to take more customers away. Give them a sweet price with termination fees paid for and unlimited non metered data and not only does Max not grow but our mobile numbers get worse. T seems very good at cutting its own throat.

I don't see this helping much. If at all.

I believe there is some truth. Ever since I dropped my att services my netflix has been problem free. before with att fiber I was getting timeout errors. the only that has changed is my service to more reputable company.
