Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Dear John (Stankey)

Welcome, John. I guess you can look at it as sort of an IQ Test for CEOs that know more than anyone about TV. But if you want to get in the streaming business, does it make sense to make your product unavailable to 70% of people streaming at launch?

Why is it that every other major new streaming service was able to get on these platforms at launch, but yours wasn't? Is it because you're such a brilliant negotiator? Do you think everyone is happy just watching movies & TV on their 5" phone screen? I hope not, because your new toy didn't even crack 90,000 mobile downloads on launch day. 90,000 out of > 400,000,000 devices in the US. That's some major buzz.

Why does your crown jewel linear TV service lose customers at a MUCH faster rate than any of the other major linear TV providers?

Why is your live TV streaming service doing far worse than competitors, like Hulu & Sling, when you started with such a huge advantage in existing customer base?

Why do you launch every product as a muddled, confusing mess - then just move on to the next thing, leaving everything else behind to wither away?

Why are you being paid 300x more than the average person at this company, just to screw up everything that you touch, John?

Sincerely,
Pretty much everyone

"I mean we are still decades past Charter and Comcast tv,they still use products from 15 years ago for their customers!!!! " 15 years ago? I get the charter app on my roku and I don't need a box from them.
charter is more reliable that anything I ever had from att both internet and tv. att fiber s—ed after six months because the speeds dropped a lot. their service doesn't got out when it rains like dtv. whatever att is trying to do they can keep it and let the employees use their own service and billing.

Mr Stankey, with all due respect for you and our leaders including Mr Stephenson, you have made a great decision for the future of television that is impeccable! Streaming brings in a lot of cash and I am all about making money but that’s the future but what about the present when all these customers that have a great reliable service with Direct and Uverse tv that want these great products?? I mean we are still decades past Charter and Comcast tv,they still use products from 15 years ago for their customers!!!! When can we see newer and more advanced features and products for Directv and Uverse? You know as well as the average guy or gal that you can’t put all your eggs in one basket! ThIs is something your team can think about so the future of television can be for everyone that decides what they should pay for because some things change but yet some things stay the same! Remember don’t just watch tv, Directv!

The only reason there 90k downloads are due to employees and the cust who get it for free. Who is actually paying for this service when they practically give away to everyone.

Why, why, why, why why? Love the line of questioning. Skanky and McFreshHell failing up.

Also good to note that all company phones had the app automatically downloaded to them so subtract all those as “new customers”
