Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

I wonder how Stankey is dealing with all of this

HBO Max was supposed to be it. The thing that not just turns the tide for AT&T when it comes to subscription losses but also propels us to the very top of the streaming game.

And yet here we are. Everybody agrees that it isn't a game-changer that it was supposed to be and a lot of reviewers and analysts doubt it will even be a moderate success in the end.

What is the man who knows more about television than anybody else supposed to do with this info?

He’s working on making his phony voice sound even deeper as he feels it makes him more credible and attractive to the ladies.

Convincing the Board of Directors to pay him $35 million next year!

Stankey could turn the whole dysfunctional AT&T experience into a reality TV show and let employees vote CEOs, SEVPs, SVPs, VPs, AVPs, and CFOs off the island. That would be entertaining and people would pay to see it. Voting off 3 a week would take at least 5 years. Call it who’s fooling who!

Stink will ignore the numbers, dislocate his shoulder trying to pat himself on the back for being such a genius, then plan another few rounds of massive layoffs to cover the losses of his failure. Meanwhile the board and his minions will grovel at his feet and tell him what an incredible "leader" he is.

You know, business as usual.

He will give himself bonuses, just look at what Randy got. There is no accountability in the c-suite, so no incentive to actually succeed at something. You just need to succeed as a sycophant to get there. Then once there just keep moving the debt around with a shell game.

His answer is to cut more jobs, bring the numbers up, make the shareholders happy. He feels like an a–hole... that he is.

Big Stank knows more about TV than the rest of us combined. I for one am proud to serve such a handsome and charismatic leader.

From the reviews that I've seen, it sounds like it is going to put us at the top of the steaming heap instead of the streaming heap.

read an article that lost about 70% possible viewership because the 'one who knows entertainment' did not do the simplest math and secure distribution via Roku and A Prime – the 2 sources MOST TV viewers use to stream content. Absolutely stupid considering the ad push on DirectTV for HBO Max. . . . Yo: 'one who knows entertainment' – if I'm watching DirectTV most likely going to want to watch content on my (direct) TV!!!!

I am sure that the whole debacle is the fault of some L2. Axe a whole bunch of 'em, hopefully we'll get the culprit.

HBO Max is the Edsel of video products! Poor roll out, Overpriced, confusing branding and lack of clear and concise advertising. I still don’t know how get it or preview it.

As an example I was able to preview CBS all access for thirty days for free on Amazon. It was ok and I might get it at a later date. However, having Amazon Prime, which is a one year price and Netflix has 90% of what I want. It’s going to be hard for AT&T to peel off loyal customers from more established providers. AT&T is too unfocused!!!
