Well, I won't share the whole email but I'll provide excerpts

Key phrases:

"..... we will be reducing our workforce in the coming weeks and months"

"The economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic is a factor"

"These reductions will be targeted, but sizeable"

"...executives, managers and bargained-for employees"

"...significantly reducing non-payroll workers"

"For management surpluses we will institute a new 14 day exit window because there will be a limited number of alternative internal roles"

"We will communicate which jobs will be eliminated in the coming weeks"

Thanks goodness for Workspace 2020!! I get to "collaboratively" peek over the shoulder of a senior exec gal in the know. She left up on her screen a letter from McEl-Stale (McElfresh) outlining how they are going to butcher employees once again.

The company, actually pretty much all large companies, are fully aware that any email like Monday's that is sent out to 200k+ employees is absolutely going to find itself on the internet, in the media, and all over the place. It's a guarantee. They know this. Everyone knows this. Thus, they're not putting anything in those "NEWS NOW" emails that they wouldn't want the media, a court jury, or Wall Street to see. Most of the basic information, aside from which executives will be doing which roles, etc., was pretty much public knowledge earlier this year. Just Google it and look for articles from the first quarter with Stankey interiews, etc. Now, back to the matter of hand....does anyone have any actual credible information on layoffs? If so, please share. If not, please stop posting nonsense here.

Posting internal company emails is prosecutable.

To be prosecuted, it must be a crime. What is the crime?

Cite the statute, OP.

"Watching AT&T destroy itself has been some of the best “must see” TV ever."

Except it's not the executives getting destroyed. It's the worker bees and their families.

"most email correspondence done in the regular course of business will be discoverable in litigation"

"Consider public perception. If possible, don’t write anything you wouldn’t want shown to a jury on an eight-foot screen."

Get lawyer-up, if the company comes after you, give them back 100x negative publicity.

I love watching these incompetent executives destroy AT&T. No clue, no long term goal other than making sure they get their annual bonus. I have said it before and will continue saying it, getting laid off in ‘18 was the best thing that ever happened to me. I work in a great company, excellent leadership team. Hell our CEO has an open door policy. He made a promise at the beginning of the pandemic that nobody would be let go, and he kept that promise.

Watching AT&T destroy itself has been some of the best “must see” TV ever.

are you a joking? what do they have to hide? senior management violates the cobc more than daily so who cares. who are you anyway asset management. go back to boot licking and stop posting on this site if you don't like it. or are you getting paid to monitor this site like a boot licker would. I would suggest you find another job because you will be surplussed eventually no matter how much boot licking you do.

What, you don't think people who received that email aren't talking to people about it. You must have your head in the sand, or up someplace worse. Significant targeted cuts, but don't talk to anyone about it... keep it to yourself... Geesh!

Awww... Some Executive, AVP, VP, etc. is hurt by McElfresh's email leaking out to an anonymous AT&T Layoff forum. Tell your mom, and she can complain to Stankey.

The truth hurts the C-suite and since they don't abide with COBC, they don't like it. All of a sudden they magically realize that the company's reputation is c#ap and are trying to turn it around but we all know its too late.

If this company didn't have such bad relations with its employees this wouldn't be a problem would it?

Competently managed businesses that treat their employees well have workers that promote their businesses. OTOH, abusive mismanaged companies like at&T have employees that hate their employer and actively speak out.

"... run afoul of corporate policy via the COBC (Code of Business Conduct) so the company could terminate you if they know who you are. "

The whole c-suite is a COBC violation and they keep getting rewarded.

If Ratty and Stinky would put half the effort into this PC BS social justice cr@p as they did running the business properly maybe they would have not run the business into the ground.

If the business was a raging success, then maybe I could tolerate their PS BS, but they ruined the company instead. Just like Jeff Immelt ruined GE while lining his pocket doing the same sh1t.

No, maybe OP signed a legal employment contract when they were hired, but most of us just got a job. We work; company pays us. Pretty simple, right?

Regardless, posting internal communications does run afoul of corporate policy via the COBC (Code of Business Conduct) so the company could terminate you if they know who you are.
