Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

In a perfect world ...

Wouldn't it be wonderful if the top execs were held to even the smallest performance standard and made to be accountable for their mistakes?

Think about all the things ATT has managed to completely destroy in just the last few years. DIRECTV was thriving before T came in and ruined it with their greed, lack of customer service, and their ridiculously horrible DTV Now launch. Now they're going to blow up HBO with their stupidly awful launch of HBO Max.

Yet the execs will get their 10% annual raise and their 8-figure bonuses, while thousands of employees get murdered.

Just imagine a place where people like Randy, Stinky, Jeffy, and all of their incompetent minions were fired for their poor performance instead of rewarded.

Ah, but the CEO and the top level guys are untouchable. It's the American way.

You’re right, Unions ruined when they got child labor laws enacted, Safety, 8 hour workday, 5 day work week, healthcare, pensions, other benefits, holidays, actual contracts with agreed work rules, overtime to compensate help stop the long extreme work days. Read your history how sweatshops and children were worked to death with little pay and a lot of it was in Company script. They were basically indentured workers, the living expenses and food always cost more so they would be indebted to the company. Tons of Company towns not too many years ago. Nearly all your benefits and perks now are because Men and Women died fighting for those rights. Ever hear the song, I sold my soul to the company store. It’s about those days.

There is corruption in any organization if there aren’t any checks and balances. Like now we need some regulation on corporate capitalism for fairness and get rid of lobbyists that are for the wealthy. Unions need a checks and balances system too.

I am not sure why ‘keep voting republican, this is what you get’ As a comment in this sting has an impact on the decision making of ATT. Randy, stinky and mcfish are all liberals. Their compensation and greed is modeled just like liberal mo–ns Pelosi and all others where you get big Bonuses and pay for doing little. What am I missing other than the president taking a verbal whack when Randy announced his departure!!

The dysfunctional and incompetent leadership that OP describes is what brought in Eliott. A fish rots from the head, and as you notice, they have been driving change from the top. Stankface will be held accountable for HBO MAX.

It's hard to root for a bunch of greedy sob's in private equity, but sometimes they are useful.

America has gone through this before during the Robber Barons heyday 1800’s to early 1900’s. Though not perfect, that’s why the Labor Unions started. Read history how they had to fight for better working conditions, contracts and accountability.

well in a perfect world yes - but since they did not get their wrist slapped it makes me wonder if they did exactly what they were suppose to do. dtv - k–led the competition. they already has some steak in dish tv because some employees were getting discounts with dish.

warner media - who knows what the point of this purchase - yet to be seen.

att is just a monopoly on a power trip k–ling competition and trying to get market share by force. I guess that is the stankey/randy way. when you compete evenly just buy them.
