A slew of emails are landing right now about various SVP retirements. Their orgs will be distributed to the remaining SVPs and the next slew of VP eliminations will begin.

Flex force did ranking & ratings this past week. Hard to believe they’d go through that to let everyone go. Anything is possible.
I heard of Flexforce getting axed 100% .... is this true
Layoff announcements and notices usually happen on Fridays, so expect a slew of VP announcements this Friday. We see a minimum of 8 SVPs already announced. SVPs likely have an average of four VPs each, so we should expect around 32 VP announcements and massive reorg notices. The following Friday it makes sense that 60-80 AVPs will be notified of layoffs and layer 1-3 management employees will be notified to attend one of two meetings telling them they are or are not targets for layoff. The next Friday expect close to 300 directors to get notices along with final notices for layer 1-3 non-director employees. Most people notified will be off the books by June 30 and some July 15. A small number of critical transition folks will be around until July 31. Expect an average of 30% reduction in ATO, ranging in most groups between 20 and 40%.
I don’t think they are posted right away on exec announcements page.
Just go to HR One Stop and ATT News Now and search on Exec Retirements...Anyone can see them for your BU or others??
"So this cut is at SVP level. Does anyone know when cuts at VP, AVP, Director levels will start ?"
Over the next 2 weeks.
So this cut is at SVP level. Does anyone know when cuts at VP, AVP, Director levels will start ?
Was told today that the retirement announcements will be coming to everyone starting Monday. Today, only upper level saw them.
either your AVP or AD don't care/don't want you to know
This goes to show just how terrible communication is in this company. Everything is cloak and dagger, with people generally finding things out either via their peers or websites like this.
Apparently someone thinks information like this isn't important for level 1 and 2 employees.
The fatty cancer needs to be cut out.
Where are you seeing retirements?
It's a distribution only sent out to the executive club (AVPs and above). If you didn't get it, it means either your AVP or AD don't care/don't want you to know, and didn't forward it.
Where are you seeing retirements? I don’t see any emails at all. Nothing in News Now except a Covid thing. Unless of course my outlook is frozen for the 4th time today ....
Retiring several SVPs is nothing. They do this all the times. it needs something more significant than that to get to billion dollar saving.
"(upper management) make(s) so much money it is sickening."
I'd have disagreed with this a week ago, but I just read a story saying the MEDIAN salary is $98k, which is crazy for a company this size. Of course, the majority of the people they're about to slam make less than that, so that number is probably going to go up in a couple of months.
This company needs to let go of almost all the upper management, they make so much money it is sickening.
“ The ones I have seen officially leave at the end of the year. So fully paid to the end of the year plus large pay offs. How is this going to save the 1.5 billion in 2020?”
It’s not, those savings will come when they surplus the people doing the work.
just shuffle the fat arround, same lhosers In different positions.
Histoty tend to repeat itself!
" Once all this passes and the dust settles, we should be well primed to reclaim the title of being the world's greatest telecommunications and media company ever."
That ain't never going to happen until the Stank is gone along with his swamp of cronies.
I can't wait to see all these loser layers of filth that's been clogging up the company go, good riddance once and for all, been a long time coming. I also can't wait to see all the other groups of losers in the level 2 management ranks and the total complete Communist losers all within the hateful unions get all cleared out as well, with all love for this once awesome company to fail. Once all this passes and the dust settles, we should be well primed to reclaim the title of being the world's greatest telecommunications and media company ever.
It’s sad that this was not done years ago as there was never a reason to have 4 levels at a VP level as the difference in usefulness was not apparent. A single VP level was all that was needed. Way too much overlap and a perfect example of unwarranted progressions to show a career path going nowhere! A qualified vp whether ex vp, sr vp, vp or avp knows the business and how to add value to business initiatives to direct their departments. Too many at this level are non participants and are focused more about badging stats, vpn reports, and setting standards for all of us to follow that is most of the time unreasonable. I sincerely hope we do not implode trying to make irresponsible changes with the workers who perform the work. Too many of those people are left go without thinking about all of the what if’s and who will carry on with the work. This is true for non management and management.
They didn't touch Penrose? IoT ripe for cost cutting
The ones I have seen officially leave at the end of the year. So fully paid to the end of the year plus large pay offs. How is this going to save the 1.5 billion in 2020?
Ones I’ve seen so far:
Rice
Petersen
Pacewicz
Meftah
Ingle
Hyde
Hermond
Finnegan
Hearing the "retirement" date is July 31st, maybe different for other VPs so all not leaving on same date.
The only SVP announcement I've seen so far is Rice. Who else has been announced?
Any date yet for announcement that your in an impacted group??
I thought the point of transformation was to eliminate layers of mgmt. not to decrease their numbers and distribute the workload to those remaining....
TRIM THE FAT, 4TH LEVEL ABOVE
Looks like a lot of online folks. CEO of Alienvault on the list also. That’s 5 I’ve seen in the past hour.
Is that for wireline? Nothing yet in Mobility
The SVPs are walking out with at 4-5 million a piece plus perks such a car payments and an enhanced healthcare plan. Pension payments of $10k/mo. on top of stock options and deferred compensation!!
